Notes[ | ]
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- A unit using Windsweep can still perform a follow-up if the foe initiates combat.
- If Windsweep prevents the foe from counterattacking and the user has skills that require the foe to have the ability to counter-attack, such as
Brash Assault 3, then those skills will not be triggered. - If the user has a guaranteed follow-up effect while initiating combat, such as Guaranteed Follow-Ups, then a regular speed check applies when determining follow-up attacks for the user.
- A unit using Windsweep and skills such as Null Follow-Up 3 or being affected by the Null Follow-Up status effect is unaffected by Windsweep's follow-up prevention.
- Windsweep can prevent the foe from counterattacking.
- A foe with skills such as Null C-Disrupt 4 or Brilliant Starlight will be able to counterattack.
- A foe with Mystic Boost 4 will only be able to counterattack against Staff units.
- A foe with
Ice-Bound Brand, 
Nifl's Bite, or Holy Yule Blade will only be able to counterattack against ranged units.
