Trivia[edit | edit source]
- In Norse mythology, Élivágar refers to the rivers that existed in Ginnungagap ("the Primordial Void"). These rivers were filled to the brim with poisons that eventually froze over. When the rivers flooded and overflowed, with the help of Niflheim ("the World of Ice and Darkness"), the toxins appeared as rain and filled the void. The toxins are said to have flowed in Hvergelmir, one of the major springs, the assumed source of all water, and home to the dragon Nidhogg and plenty other serpents.
