Working within the default kit she comes with, Caeda is a very capable counter-mage. The only mages she dies to are ones that can OHKO her. She's in a 5-way tie for most base speed of any unit in the game. (1st place is Lon'Qu, 2nd is Anna, and 3rd is both varieties of Caeda, Lyn, Setsuna, Felicia and Navarre.) What this means is the only units who can get double attacks on her must have +Spd IVs, and either Darting Blow or LND3, or are running B Tomebreaker.

If you have +Spd IV yourself, you don't even need to worry about LND3 mages (except other +Spd Bridal Caedas, I suppose). Nino and Linde, the next fastest mages, require the +Spd seal or Speed buffs to get to the magical 45 number. And you can always match that with your own team set up, if you find you need your Caeda to tank a hit from either of them.

If you manage to separate the green blade tome mages that are rampant in the meta from their Hone/Fortify/Rally support, you can even tank a shot from them. Fury 3 neutral Nino still requires +7 to her total damage to OHKO Bridal Caeda, while neutral attack Julia, Spring Camilla or Cecilia need +5. They are probably going to have the support to easily reach that threshold, but still. If you can separate them from the heard, you can tank a shot from them and if they aren't going to get a kill against some other unit in your party, they will gun for her because AI chases WTA matchups. Obviously, she fairs a lot better against other blue mages. Except Reinhardt. He still wins. Hopefully you have other ways to deal with him.

If you want to get silly with the anti-mage potential, you could feed her Blárowl for spur shenanigans. It'll also help her lowish attack, and definitely solidify her crazy speed, if you have more than one unit directly next to you. (Worth noting that Mae herself is a pretty capable blue anti-mage already so feeding her tome to Bridal Caeda is a bit redundant when you could just actually use her.)

When not fighting other mages, Caeda is as servicable a mage as you could expect. Her attack power may be a little on the low side, but that's fine because she's going to double pretty much the entire cast save a very select few units. When Iceberg procs, pretty much anything is dies. And she's buffing the defense and resistance of the rest of your team every time she lands an attack, which is pretty handy. She already comes with Hone Speed 3 default so that covers all the defensive buffs.

Reposition is fairly standard. Swap could work. Might even want to do Ardent Sacrifice depending on the rest of your team's needs.

This build is designed to take advantage of Bride Caeda’s resistance to boost her damage output. This build will put her Res at 38 at the least, meaning that when Iceberg triggers, she will have an additional 19 damage added to her attack. The rest of the skills take advantage of her weapon’s unique post-battle effect, blessing her allies with plenty of defensive stats and giving her a flexible utility option should she need to step behind the rest of the team. Her naturally high speed makes her a good candidate for Desperation, as she can tank a wide variety of magic attacks and dish out bouquets of pain on retaliation, be it on enemy phase or player phase. Spur skills such as Spur Spd/Def 2 and Spur Def/Res 2 are ideal since they add to her utility and compliment her unique weapon.

Lucius is tied among healers for the second highest base Atk of 32 (lagging behind Genny's 35) and tied for second highest base Res in the game at a whopping 35. This set aims to capitalize on Lucius's good Atk for a healer and ludicrous Res to allow him to beat any mage in the game. Even assuming the absolute worst case scenario (enemy is +4 buffed in all stats, +Atk IV, has double distant defend 3, wrazzle dazzle, and/or Threaten Res), Lucius still only loses to 11 mages. Naturally, being the worst case, this scenario is unlikely to ever happen and, with the proper set ups and buffs, Lucius is literally unstoppable when fighting enemy mages.

+Res/-Def IVs are the best choice for this set. Lucius's dreadful base Def of 13 means he should never be put in combat with physical units, and +Res increases his already absurd magic tanking.

Dazzling Pain+ is the obvious weapon of choice due to the increased availability of the Wrathful Staff B skill compared to the Dazzling Staff B skill.

Martyr+ has fantastic synergy with this set up due to it's ability to heal based on damage taken, as well as built in Live to Serve properties that keep Lucius alive and well.

The special on this set is entirely up to the needs of the team. Imbue is a fast cooldown healing boost, Heavenly Light is great for chain maps and Fury 3 heavy teams, and Miracle increases Lucius's survivability.

Atk/Res+2 is chosen for this set because it buffs both of the most important stats in Lucius's arsenal. In a budget build, Res+3 does well enough. Many builds will suggest a +Spd IV and Spd+3, but this can only take a mage counter Lucius so far without heavy investment since many high tier mages have speed reaching well into the 40s and even 50s after enemy buffs. One is better off investing in Res for a mage counter set.

Wrathful Staff 3 is the obvious choice to maximize damage. In a budget set, Wings of Mercy run with Wrathful Pain+ can also serve well to pull Lucius away from harm while also providing massive heals to nearby allies and himself.

Res Ploy 3 Since 40 Res is hard to top, this will help maximize Lucius's damage output, as well as hurt enemy skills like Iceberg and Glacies. In a budget set (or on certain maps where Ploys are unreasonable), Threaten Res can also be of help.

Atk Ploy 3 SS keeps Lucius alive longer and hurts Draconic skills. Res+3 SS can also be run if the map layout makes Ploy skills unusable.

use the most of his base kit and heavy blade and seal attack to charge astra and lower the damage of a posible counter attack the secondaries are used to lower the chance of being doubled and for those with higher budgets
