Similar logic as the set above, except focused on melee combat and more budget-friendly since everything but Atk Smoke and Reposition is already present in his base kit. With Steady Breath active, a doubling opponent will allow Bike to immediately charge up and counterattack with Aether, assuming the opponent attacks at close range. Lull Atk/Def 3 is a more costly but more effective option as unlike Beorc's blessing, there are no conditions by movement type and it also lowers the enemy's two essential stats for Bike to take advantage of.

Fierce Stance as a S seal follows the same logic as the above set, while Close Def 3 allows him to get an extra oomph in his melee defenses.

This build is about taking 1 hit, then retaliating with ignis. Only high defense and Triangle Adept 3 reds can hope to survive Brave Ike's Icon Skill Special.png Ignis attack, which lets you lay down destruction on the first enemy to even try to touch you. In arena with the current OHKO meta, this helps immensely in plowing through teams.

Steady Breath.png Steady Breath lets Ike focus on melee dueling, while leaving the mages to his teammates. The main draw is getting the double special charge when initiated on. The extra 4 defense is a bonus letting Ignis hit for 31 extra damage on neutral defense.

Ike's B skill has 2 options. His innate Beorcs Blessing.png Beorc's Blessing means horses and fliers will have their buffs ignored, having them deal less damage to Ike. Quick Riposte 3.png Quick Riposte 3 is a valid replacement to allow Ike to double on enemy phase. I would mainly consider Quick Riposte only if you have heal support via Reciprocal Aid to put Ike back into QR range after tanking 1 hit to unleash Ignis, as without Aether, Ike won't be able to heal back up into QR range. At Neutral HP, Ike needs 30 HP to stay in Quick Riposte 3 range, and 34 HP to stay in Quick Riposte 2 range.

Ike's C skill is flexible and should be used depending on what your team needs. His innate Threaten Def 3.png Threaten Def 3 does not suit him because he focuses on enemy phase while Threaten Defense starts on player phase at close range to boot. Instead a buff for his allies would be more helpful.

A build intended to improve Ike's overall defensive performance with the help of his legendary weapon, Icon Class Green Axe.png Urvan.

For his IVs: +SPD is taken for defensive purposes as at 31 speed and a speed buff he can avoid doubles from a considerable amount of faster units. +ATK allows him to reach a very high threshold to finish enemies more quickly. With a +RES and Urvan he can survive Reinhardt and other popular mages more easily. A neutral nature doesn't hurt his performance too much and avoids hitting any stat. A HP bane is taken as it can be easily fixed with the Sacred Seal HP +3.

Distant Counter.png Distant Counter is chosen for his A slot as it, together with Urvan, gives Ike better coverage by allowing him to deal with ranged units more easily. His default Beorcs Blessing.png Beorc's Blessing is taken for more general utility on his matchups, allowing him to deal with fliers and cavalry (especially Reinhardt) more safely. Alternatively, Quick Riposte 3.png Quick Riposte 3 helps patch his average speed and finish enemies more cleanly when defending.

As for Specials, an offensive special such as Icon Skill Special.png Bonfire or Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow is recommended since after he's engaged upon, he can then retaliate with a special-boosted counter attack, punishing those who attempt to take him out with heavy damage or a KO.

His default Threaten Def 3.png Threaten Def 3 is fine and can help him patch the potential liability of lacking a stat boosting skill on his A slot. Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3 can be used for the same reason and allows him to deal with buffed threats such as infantry -blade tomes, that are not affected by Beorc's Blessing, much better when active. Assist Skills are flexible. The Sacred Seal of choice is HP Plus 3.png HP +3 for survivability reason and to cover the HP bane.--Bentermuler (talk) 16:40, 31 August 2017
