- The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if both Buffer 4 and Godlike Reflexes activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 70% instead of 90%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 50%) × (1 − 40%) = 30% of the original damage.

- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- Movement occurs only if both the unit and the target can enter the target spaces normally.
- Close Call triggers before Røkkr area-of-effect Specials.
- The stat decrease that can be applied by Close Call 4 is considered a temporary debuff.
- Effects that select units based on stats, such as Chill Def/Res 3, directly select the unit with the appropriate stat(s); they do not compare the team's units pairwise to decide which unit has the highest or lowest stat(s).
- Effects that check if a unit could make follow-up by decreasing the Spd difference, such as Potent 4, are not affected by Close Call 4.
- Effects that increase the Spd difference, such as Wyvern Rift, are not affected by Close Call 4.
- Close Call 4 stacks with other effects that treats a unit's Spd as if granted by a certain amount.
- For example, if both Buffer 4 and Phantom Spd 3's effects trigger the unit with both skills will have their Spd treated as if granted +17.
