- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat increase that can be applied by Constant Dagger is considered a temporary buff.
- Constant Dagger can prevent the foe from counterattacking.
- A foe with skills such as Null C-Disrupt 4 or Brilliant Starlight will be able to counterattack.
- A foe with Mystic Boost 4 will only be able to counterattack against Staff units.
- A foe with Ice-Bound Brand, Nifl's Bite, or Holy Yule Blade will only be able to counterattack against ranged units.
- Movement occurs only if both the unit and the target can enter the target spaces normally.
- Constant Dagger triggers before Røkkr area-of-effect Specials.
- The counterattack prevention and support partner swapping effects of Constant Dagger will only activate if the unit has their Ally Support partner deployed on the map.
- A unit with Queensblade will prevent Ally Support effects from triggering during combat.
- Effects granted to Ally Support partners during combat will not apply if they are inflicted with Feud or are in combat against a foe with skills such as Impenetrable Void and C Feud 3.

- The damage boosting effect of refined Constant Dagger ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage reduction effects such as Armored Beacon, Dragon Wall 3, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.

- The support partner swapping effects of refined Constant Dagger will only activate if the unit has their Ally Support partner deployed on the map.

- If the effect is active, the unit will gain 2 charges from both attacking and being attacked.
- If used alongside another source of "Special cooldown charge +X", only the higher of the two charge increases will apply.
- This means that if a unit has two "Special cooldown charge +1" effects from two different sources, the battle will play out as if only one "Special cooldown charge +1" effect is active.
- Skills such as Spd/Def Tempo 4 and Spendy Scimitar will neutralize effects that grant "Special cooldown charge +X" to the foe.
- Constant Dagger inflicts out of combat damage.
- Out of combat damage cannot reduce a unit's HP to 0.
