This page is about the status effect Desperation. For the Tactics Drills map, see Desperation (map). For the Passive skill, see Desperation.

Desperation is a status effect that allows units to preform a follow-up attack before the foe can counterattack.

In essence, an afflicted unit behaves as if it possesses Desperation 3.png Desperation 3 and satisfies its activation requirement. For sources of this status effect, see the category page Sources of Desperation.

Skill Interaction[edit | edit source]

Main article: Skill interaction
  •  Desperation does not guarantee the targeted unit a follow-up attack.
  • If the targeted unit can perform a follow-up attack, either by a speed check or a skill such as Brash Assault 3.png Brash Assault 3, the initial attack and follow-up will occur before the foe can perform a counterattack.
  • A foe with a skill such as Vantage 3.png Vantage 3 has priority over the unit with  Desperation.
  •  Desperation changes the attack priority, or order of attacks, and therefore can be disabled by Hardy Bearing 3.png Hardy Bearing 3.
When a unit has this status effect, an icon is shown on their sprite on the map.
