Horse Emblem Mixed Tank

This build is intended to make Berkut a mixed tank, functioning best under a Fortify Cavalry buff. If specials aren't an issue, Guard can be replaced by QR and the seal can be swapped out for Close/Distant Defense, depending on the rest of the team's needs. Iceberg and Bonfire are nearly identical, with Iceberg dealing slightly more damage on enemy phase.

Physical Tank

This build is incredibly unorthodox, but it's an absolute nightmare for a lot of melee physical units to fight against. The key with this build is stacking Berkut's effective defense as high as possible, as well as... speed? A Bracing Stance build might work similarly, but deciding on one defense stat to pump rather than doing both makes him overall better at his job of eating hits.

All of the skills go to using his solid base defense of 31 on the enemy phase. The effect of his Dark Royal Spear, as well as the double-up on Steady Posture, add a whooping 15 to his defense, while the two Lull skills from his weapon and B cause the enemy's stats Berkut cares about most to drop down. I personally find Atk/Spd best since it lets him tank a little better, despite the buffs already being ignored from the weapon, and three extra effective defense is much more worth it for this build.

Quick Riposte is also an option for his B slot since although this makes him fast, there's just some speed tiers he'll never be able to hit, so this not only guarantees he'll hit twice, but if there's nothing stopping special charge, he'll fire that off too. Similarly, the C skill is also a bit of pick and choose. Attack Smoke lowers the direct damage potential further, while Speed Smoke can skyrocket the number of units he can avoid the double from (and others now get doubled in return!).

Despite only having 22 base speed, the stacking of postures and the Lull boost the threshold needed to double him to 40 speed (45 with maxed merges and flowers). In a fast meta, this is incredibly solid, and even if it doesn't stop him from being doubled, it significantly reduces the impact of enemies with a skill like Repel.

A cavalry team would naturally be an incredible fit for him to use buffs granted by the Cavalry Skills, but this build lacking any cavalry skills also means that it can be slotted in on a mixed team pretty solidly.
