Winter Chrom can rock the world with Bold Fighter 3.png Bold Fighter 3 and offensive power stacked on the rest of his kit. Death Blow 3.png Death Blow 3 is the standard Player Phase skill for most damage, while Sturdy Blow 2.png Sturdy Blow 2 adds 4 to his defense, in exchange for a loss of 2 attack. The weapon refine, if available, is always Attack, and the seal choices and specials are made to bolster his offensive nuke as much as possible. In terms of C skill, Armor March 3.png Armor March 3 is important if no other member in the team has it, as Chrom absolutely needs the extra movement; however, if he is marched by someone else, an armor buff can be taken, or even Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3.

The Icon Class Green Axe.png Slaying Axe+ build slightly edges out over the Brave one in the number of total matchups won, and also those where Chrom survives. With the cooldown reduction, Icon Skill Special.png Ignis can be taken, which will always proc on his second hit, assuming the enemy can counter him. The seal of choice is Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3, being the one that improves his damage the most.

On the other hand, the Icon Class Green Axe.png Brave Axe+ build allows Chrom to always quad the enemy, if they survive until the end.

While the Slaying build is safer for Chrom, either build can be considered. If using Winter Chrom in arena defense as well, the Slaying build once again outperforms the Brave one.

This build focuses on three things: being creative, unique, and effective. It's sole purpose is to prevent Winter Chrom from dying in Tempest Trials or Chain Challenge. It accomplishes this by combo-ing Shield Pulse with Warding Breath. Shield Pulse 3 will lower the cooldown of Miracle from 5 to 3 at the start of the first round. As long as an enemy melee unit attacks first, Chrom's Sack o' Gifts will activate, buffing his protective stats, and his Warding Breath will help him gain -2 cooldown on miracle before counterattacking, thus giving him miracle throughout the entire Tempest Trial run, should he die. Panic Ploy 3 and Deflect Magic 3 should help shave off any additional damage, as well as debuffing the enemy.
