Stat line is 45/53/34/30/23 (+Atk/-Res)

This Corrin (M) build has dual purpose, taking advantage of his new Icon Class Red Sword Yato refine and functional offensive stats.

The primary purpose of this build is to be a godlike support unit, especially when near his Ally Supported partner. The first set of skills supports a defensive partner, and the second set supports an offensive partner. These sets, however, are merely examples and thereby flexible; use what best fits Corrin's support partner. For example, a supported Reinhardt doesn't need Spd buffs, so Corrin can run Skilliconassist Rally Attack and 2 Drive Atk 2 Drive Atk 2's for a +15/+5/+5/+5 boost (non-adjacent). The example defensive set buffs +6/+6/+13/+13, and the example offensive set buffs +11/+11/+5/+5 (non-adjacent). If another unit on your team has the right buffing skills in their C-slot, then the Rally skill can be replaced with something like Skilliconassist Reciprocal Aid or Skilliconassist Reposition.

The second purpose is to be a green slayer when needed. With Death Blow 3 Death Blow 3, Axebreaker 3 Axebreaker 3, and Skilliconspecial Moonbow, Corrin can initiate with 59 Atk and easily handle any axe user and most green tome users to help pull his weight on the team. These are flexible as well and can be switched for other options, such as Fury 3 Fury 3 or Life and Death 3 Life and Death 3 and Desperation 3 Desperation 3 to make Corrin more versatile.

This build is designed to take advantage of the sizeable stat increases offered by the Icon Class Red Sword Yato's other refines. Simply by choosing the spd refine, Corrin gains +5 spd/HP and +2 atk/def/res on top of the 16 mt of a legendary weapon, giving him a (neutral) statline of 47/50/37/30/26. Adding Life and Death 3 Life and Death 3, he achieves a powerful 55/42 offensive statline, while still keeping respectable 25/21 defenses.

The Heavy Blade 3 Heavy Blade 3 sacred seal is vital in this build for ensuring one-round special activations, and therefore kills. The recommended specials are Skilliconspecial Draconic Aura, for guaranteed damage when Corrin is expected to take a hit in the first round of combat, and Skilliconspecial Glimmer, for the situations where Corrin might not take a hit. There are two options for the B and C slots, both meant for slightly different phases. The first option, Desperation 3 Desperation 3, is more player-phase oriented, and would synergise well with Glimmer, letting Corrin kill without getting hit himself. The C slot is left for whatever fits best with the team. The second option, Vantage 3 Vantage 3 and Def Smoke 3 Def Smoke 3, is meant for killing one unit, slapping the rest of the enemy with -7 def, and killing the rest with Vantage.

The specific IVs +Res/-HP plays with +4/-4 IVs and a very balanced defensive line of 25/25 (30/30 without Life and Death 3 Life and Death 3).

Ultimate Husbando Corrin
Click to show/hide build description
Ultimate Husbando Corrin provides the ultimate support to his lover of choice. The primary feature which sets the build apart is the use of Def Res Link 3 Def/Res Link 3 obtainable from the new latest Bridal Banner (of course, because he is the ultimate husbando). Together with his legendary Weapon refine Icon Class Red Sword Yato, S-Rank support, Spur Def Res 2 Spur Def/Res 2 and a defensive aura seal of choice, Corrin can boost his partner's defensive stats up a whopping +18/+15 because their love really is unbreakable. The +6/+6 boost to offensive stats is nice too, and if you want you can switch out your C passives and seal to increase his offensive aura instead...after all Corrin is the master of all kinds of friendships.

You will ideally want your partner to run some sort of defensive enemy-phase build so that you can capitalize on Def Res Link 3 Def/Res Link 3 effect. This also means that Corrin will be the one fighting on the front lines to prove his love and not hiding cowardly behind his lover because that's just not attractive at all. Have Corrin run towards the enemy bravely. You will find his +2 to all stats from Yato, Swift Sparrow 2 Swift Sparrow 2 and high attack stat can kill many things, but sometimes he won't be able to kill...basically because he wants his lover to have some fun too! If this happens, have his lover run to him like in the movies, reach out lovingly and Skilliconassist Reposition him safely behind. This will activate both Def Res Link 3 Def/Res Link 3 as well as ensure all adjacent buffs are active. Alternatively, if he can kill an enemy then safely Reposition him away from counter attack from the next guy. Afterwards they can share battle stories by the fireplace.

I would recommend Grima (F) as the ultimate waifu for Corrin - with built in Distant Counter Distant Counter, freedom of movement, moderately defensive statline and lack of colorless weapon-triangle disadvantage make her an ideal partner for this build.

Ultimate Arena Buddy Corrin
Click to show/hide build description
Ultimate Arena Buddy Corrin is an alternative build meant specifically to maximize both arena score and the effectiveness of his buddy.

Firstly, a couple of points; Firstly, why Corrin? He is a cheap unit so it makes him a good unit to merge +10 for score. Additionally, the legendary Weapon refine Icon Class Red Sword Yato has become even more useful with the advent of the additional points for each kill by the bonus unit - boosting your bonus unit +4 in all stats is suddenly very useful! Secondly, In preparation for the arena, make sure Corrin has completed an S-Class support rank with your buddy of choice - this would be one of the weekly bonus units in the arena. This can easily be done by spamming a few GHBs or Training Tower levels and ensuring both units get a kill each time. Corrin can swap over to the next bonus unit whenever you need him.

Skills: Skilliconassist Rally Spd/Def+, Skilliconspecial Aether and Distant Counter Distant Counter are all staples for high arena score. Obviously these are also fairly expensive skills, so try and find high-scoring alternatives such as Brazen Atk Def 3 Brazen Atk/Def 3 if they are unavailable. Skilliconassist Rally Spd/Def+ fits in wonderfully with Corrin's pure support role, but a cheaper Skilliconassist Rally Spd/Def or similar will suffice. Since no B Skills grant his allies passive bonuses (since he has a rally assist), Corrin takes Poison Strike 3 Poison Strike 3 for the purpose of weakening the foe for his buddy. Additionally, it is also a high-scoring skill. For C, Corrin can take any double spur such as Spur Atk Def 2 Spur Atk/Def 2 which will stack nicely with his weapon and also scores highly in arena. For the seal, Res Tactic 3 Res Tactic 3 works well on a tactics team (and stacks well with Skilliconassist Rally Spd/Def+), or alternatively a drive skill such as Drive Def 2 Drive Def 2 will stack nicely with his aura. Both these skills score highly.

IVs: Corrin takes a +Res/-Atk IV. This might seem like an odd decision, but the reason for this is two-fold. Firstly, Corrin wants his super-boon in Res so that he can score higher. Secondly, he is unfortunate to have both HP and Def as super-banes so we are left with Atk and Spd. In actual fact this ends up being in our favor - we don't want Corrin killing enemies, we want his buddy to. Give him -Atk for a lesser chance to kill the enemy and instead leave them for his buddy with an additional Poison Strike 3 Poison Strike 3 jab.

Good luck in the Arena!
