Brave Faye
Click to show/hide build description
The classic Brave weapon build. Like the majority of archers, Faye can run a Brave Bow set fairly effectively thanks to the exclusion of bows from the Weapon Triangle, allowing her to deal respectable damage to the majority of the Fire Emblem Heroes roster. Faye also has good defensive stats compared to other archers, who usually have decent defense, resistance, or neither. This allows Faye to tank a hit if absolutely necessary, although this isn't advised. Her Poor speed in this build will make get her doubled quite frequently. The trade-off for these defensive stats; however, is that her speed is low for an archer, meaning that she won't often quad anyone without the help of a breaker skill or team backup.

Death Blow is the obvious choice for the A slot, as it synergizes well with Brave Bow's weapon effect, effectively granting Faye a +12 damage boost whenever she initiates. The Attack +1 seal adds another +2 damage on top of that. In the B slot, Swordbreaker is the most optimal choice. Many of the common Sword units have Distant Counter in their kit, and while Brave Archers often use Desperation to circumvent this, Faye's speed means she won't be an effective user of Desperation. Thus, Swordbreaker is run to ensure Faye can KO some of the bulkier Sword units with Distant Counter, such as Xander. Faye also has the defenses to tank the hit in-between her 4 attacks when she initiates. If sword units are already covered by one of Faye's teammates, a different breaker of choice can be put in the B slot.

The special can be either Luna or Iceberg. Their 3 turn cooldown means that Faye will always use her special when she quads someone, or when she initiates for a second time - unless her first target died on the first hit. Luna is better for high defense targets like armored units, while Iceberg has more consistent damage, using Faye's high resistance to fuel it's damage. For the assist slot, Reposition and Draw Back are both good options and the choice is up to the player. The C slot is up to the player's preference

While the Brave Bow set is mainly focused on eliminating as many targets as possible on the Player Phase, this build uses Faye's respectable defenses to bait units and KO them on the counter with a charged up special. This set baits and KO's almost all of the common ranged units with only a few exceptions; however, as Faye is very slow, she should avoid getting initiated on by melee units as this is likely going to end up in a badly damaged or knocked out Faye.

Slaying Bow+ is run to reduce the special cooldown of Iceberg to 2. This means that, with Quick Riposte equipped, Faye can always fire off her special when baiting a ranged unit - unless that unit has Guard equipped. When Iceberg activates, Faye will do an additional 17 damage. This, on top of the damage she does without Iceberg, guarantees a KO on most mages and archers. If Slaying Bow+ isn't available, Killer Bow+ can be run, however the reduced Might of the latter means Faye will miss out on a few KO's.

For the B slot, Quick Riposte is the optimal choice as it synergizes really well with the playstyle of this build. It allows Faye to counterattack twice despite her low speed and lets her use her special during the first combat. Speaking of specials, Iceberg is the best choice. It uses Faye's high resistance to deal damage and helps secure KO's. Glacies can also be an option, but it has to be noted that this skill will not go off in combat if the enemy does not double Faye.

Reposition or Draw back can be run in the Assist slot and the choice is up to the player. Likewise, the C slot is also open to the player's choice. For the Seal, Atk Ploy 1 or Distant Def 1 can be run to make Faye even tankier.

After-Combat Damage Faye
Click to show/hide build description
This build aims to maximize Faye's out of combat damage, letting her deal a bunch of area damage and taking no damage in return. With Savage Blow as a skill and as a Sacred Seal, she can deal 14 after-combat damage to all units in the area, along with 10 Poison Strike damage to her initial target. This build is very strong against tanky targets, because the damage does not get reduced by the target's DEF or RES stats.

I personally think going +Def is better for this set, but +Res isn’t bad either considering that it helps makes Def Ploy trigger against more foes. Her speed stat is bad enough as is and since Quick Riposte allows her to double, it’s the best IV to be her bane regardless of boon. Obviously, whichever IVs she has dictates if you should go for Bonfire or Iceberg. Guard Bow giving her Distant Def 3 along with the Close Def 3 seal means that in the enemy phase at +0 she has 38/37 or 35/40 defensive stats regardless of enemy range. This also means she’ll deal an extra 19 damage with Bonfire and an extra 20 damage with Iceberg exclusively in the enemy phase. There may be some better units for the job of Close Counter archer, but she’s not a bad option either. It ultimately comes down to your personal preference if you opt to make her this way.
