The purpose of this build is to let Genny peel the enemies, so something else can finnish the enemies off. As she is a staff user, she can also fill the spot in your party as a healer. The type of enemies it goes best against is defensive ones that retaliates hard, because the staff refinement makes them unable to attack, and the PAIN bypasses their resistance. As Genny has the highest attack of all of the staff users and starts off Wrathful staff she is the perfect candidate for this build.

She fits best in a mixed party, as you can have an armor to heal, a flier for mobility and kiting or a chavalry to finish the wounded enemies off.

Weapon:Dazzling Staff W.png Pain+ is used to inflict lots of pain. With the refinement it also prevents the enemy counter-attack which is important, as Genny is pretty sucseptible to death as her def isn't that high.

Assist: Icon Skill Assist.png Recover+ is a great option for the healing skill, since after they updated the healing to scale with Atk, she will be able to recover 30+ hp. The reason I didn't choose Rehabibilitate+ is because I prefer keeping my units at high health instead of recoverin almost dying units, but that is personal preference really, so you could choose what you prefer.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Miracle is used in case of emergency as she is sucseptible to death. Against mages she will usually survive one hit, but the second one will kill her. That's why she needs a fail safe, in case you fail to kite with her and let the enemy attack her.

A Passive: Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3 is used because there isn't many offensive A skill options for a staff unit. You could consider using Atk/Spd 2 to help a bit with the survibility, but since it is harder to get and doesn't help that much, Attack +3 is more recommended.

B Passive: Wrathful Staff 3.png Wrathful Staff 3 to increase the damage. As simple as that.

C Passive & Sacred Seal: Savage Blow 3.png Savage Blow 3: is used to cause colladeral damage. It stacks with itself and Pain+ so it does 24 damage in colladeral damage. That's a lot of damage.

With this build you are playing the long game, so if you play a map with respawning enemies you might not have time to kill them before the spawn again, so it might not be good in those maps, but they are excellent against enemies who hit hard back at you if you don't kill it in your attack. It has it's uses when you can't kill the enemy tank.

The general gist of the build is to let Genny play both a supportive role, as well as a pretty decent offensive one as well. I personally have a summoner support on her, which boosts all her starts further. She is able to counter most mages pretty well, and she deals a significant amount of damage to low resistance units. If a dancer (such as Olivia) is around, you should be able to score a take down whilst also accounting for her rather low speed. However as a support unit, she tends to stay close to allies, so carrying rehabilitate and attack/speed bond 3 will completely change how you use her to match the playstlye you prefer.

This build is taken from the true master of healers, and ultimate whale, Lu Bu.

Just by seeing the skills, it should be fairly obvious where this build is going, however, I shall tell you in great detail the reasoning behind each choice of weapon and passives. The reasoning behind the Wrathful Staff weapon refine instead of Dazzling staff is that Genny has a harder time doubling units anyways, so she is going to allowed to take hits in order to allow vantage to proc. This is key because, after Genny attacks, Pain, Savage Blow, and the Savage Blow SS will deal up to 24 damage to the target and enemies around it. This basically halves the enemies HP before the enemy has a chance to attack in their enemy turn. This allows for the potential of Wrathful staff to truly shine, dealing large amounts of damage to the enemy as long as Genny does not get 1 shot. And hopefully, if she does not get one shot, she will enter vantage range. This furthermore synergizes with close counter as, even if a physical attacker can attack Genny, hopefully vantage will allow Genny to kill said attacker without being hit.

one of the most dangerous builds in the game, where Genny can basically ignore res stats.

This build aims to give Genny the most healing possible, while also giving her free self-sustain. +Attack is her best boon, as it increases the damage dealt by Absorb+, and also increases Recover+'s healing. Before a hone buff, a +Atk Genny with Attack +3 will heal 34 HP per heal before Imbue. Atk/Res Bond 3 is a higher investment option which drops that to 32 HP and offers her slightly more damage on Absorb+. Speaking of which, when attacking, not only will Genny deal damage and heal herself up for free, but she'll heal nearby allies for 21 HP, or 7 HP when they're 2 spaces away. If you want, you could swap the seal for Savage Blow 3 to offer a bit more damage to nearby foes, in exchange for 7 HP to nearby allies, but I would personally stay with Breath of Life 3, as it increases the healing of nearby allies, and technically, Genny's self-healing as well.

This build focuses entirely on increasing her attack to make use of Recover+ and/or Physic+ support skills, maximizing her attack would mean she can heal loads and consistently as opposed to the traditional Rehabilitation method. with the maximum of 58 attack (with life and death) she can heal 29 hp whith physic+ and 34 hp with recover+ wich can fully heal units like nino and Lute. With maximizing her attack and with 30 spd she can pose a threat with Wrathful staff equipt and If possible with the new weapon refinery, giving her weapon the firesweep effect where enemies cannot counter attack, allowing her to injure and maybe kill low res units without risk also meaning her low res and def with life and death wont hinder her too much

Enemy Phase Genny
Click to show/hide build description
This build uses the Absorb+ staff, refined to gain built-in Wrathful Staff, in order to let Genny become a unit able to tank in the front lines, and two different setups can be run - one enabling her to counter and tank at either distance (more useful for PvE), and the other focusing on her ability to scoff at even the most powerful mages' attacks (more useful for arena).

An HP bane is ideal for such a build since the other stats are more important. A Defense bane means Genny takes more damage, Resistance means both more damage and less potential to Ploy enemies, Speed means she'll be doubled me everything and Attack hinders her ability to kill enemies. Speed has been chosen as the boon since not only does it get +4 as opposed to +3, it also goes a long way to prevent doubles from a lot of enemies with middling speed.

Absorb+ is the core of this build, allowing Genny to restore 50% of the damage dealt after every attack. This is what allows Genny to be a frontline tank - being able to heal allies after any combat is the icing on the cake. Additionally, as with all other staves, Absorb+ gets two refining choices - one provides Wrathful Staff 3 and the other provides Dazzling Staff 3. Wrathful Staff is the better choice, as Dazzling Staff is pointless on an enemy phase build, and this also frees up the desperately needed B slot.

There's not much to say about the assists. Recover+ and Physic+ are much more reliable than Rehabilitate now (Recover+ heals a guaranteed 31 HP, Physic+ heals 21) and are therefore better choices. I personally prefer Recover+ not only because it heals more but also because Genny won't need to heal at range to stay out of combat, but Physic+ also works well if you prefer it.

Miracle is the best special choice in my opinion, allowing Genny to survive a fatal hit if it's ever necessary. It does come with a cooldown of 5, but she can usually survive long enough to make it ready to activate if necessary. If the rest of the team requires certain buffs those are also good options, but if they don't, the other healer special options are rather underwhelming.

The A and S slot both depend on the purpose Genny should fulfil. Close Counter and Close Defense 3 allow her to tank a surprisingly high amount of physical melees and kill most of them (bar some units with very high Res such as Joshua) in return, while Distant Defense 3 and Atk Ploy 3 help her specialise as a mage killer, all the while staying healthy thanks to Absorb+.

Since Genny's Speed is one of the lowest in the game, Quick Riposte emerges naturally as the single best B skill option. With it she can double any enemy when attacked, with virtually no exceptions since there is no Staffbreaker skill - only armors with Wary Fighter and 25 or more speed can avoid the double.

On the C slot, a Ploy is preferred to make Genny more independent. Atk Ploy reduces the damage she takes from enemies, while Res Ploy allows her to get kills more easily and Spd Ploy makes it harder for some enemies to double her. A Fortify or Hone can also be run to support the rest of the team, but Ploys allow her to safely debuff enemies and get better matchups of her own.

Good teammates for this Genny are those who can provide her with buffs - Performing Arts Azura stands out, being able to dance and give a +3 to all stats with an extra +3 to Resistance from Drive Res, and Oscar is also very good since he comes with Rally Spd/Def and Spur Spd/Def, although any unit with a double rally and spur can support her very well. Both of them also have good matchup coverage against physical units with their default kits, which Genny appreciates in the event of not being able to take down a physical unit. Also make sure to run a unit that can check bow units, especially Brave Lyn, if you don't run Distant Defense and Atk Ploy.

This build allows Genny to dish out massive damage, since her attack stat is pretty above average for that of a healer, the focus on her speed allows her to secure the kill without the enemy counterattack.
