Glass Cannon

Linde has one of the most hyper offensive stat lineups in the entire game, with 35 attack and 36 speed. As such, it makes sense to have the Light Mage wield the most offensive tome, the Blárblade+. Converting all buffs into additional damage, Linde can hit up to 72 attack when she is fully buffed. Since with such a high damage potential, doubling units becomes more important than doing extra damage, the preferred boon on this build is +spd. However, like with many other glass cannons in this game, Linde is a very fragile unit, especially on the physical side.

To augment her damage and speed even more, Fury is a solid A passive to use on Linde. Aside from making her deal more damage, it also increases her resistance to a fairly respectable number, which means she can actually take a hit from a mage that isn't Green. It is still ill-adviced to take any physical hit, even with Fury equipped, however. Fury also plays nicely into Linde's preferred B skill, Desperation, as it allows her to drop below 75% HP after 2 rounds of combat and activate Desperation. Alternatively, Life and Death can be run for more attack and speed than Fury provides. However, it drops both her defense and resistance. As a result of this, Desperation is harder to activate compared to Fury.

Desperation is the B slot of choice, as it allows Linde to use her amazing speed stat to attack an enemy twice before they can counterattack back. This allows her to deal with green units that can counterattack, and many of the green units that do not have high magic defense or Triangle Adept will be KO'd by Linde under the effect of desperation.

The C slot is flexible and can be used for a spur or hone depending on the player's needs. For the seal slot, the best options are Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3 and Speed Plus 3.png Speed +3

For the assists, either Draw Back or Reposition can be chosen. Reposition allows Linde to move an ally 2 spaces, likely putting them out of danger. Draw Back, on the other hand, allows Linde to move an ally to safety whilst also staying behind that ally, keeping Linde safe. For the special, moonbow is chosen as it is the lowest cooldown special available. Due to Blárblades special cooldown penalty, Linde will likely not proc any of the higher turn specials during a single battle, unless she has Dancer support.

Linde is, as a unit, incredibly similar to Delthea. While they are both support oriented blue infantry mages, Linde trades a small amount of Attack and Resistance for a small amount of Hp, Defense, and Speed. Where Delthea helps your other infantry allies secure K.O.'s that might otherwise be out of reach, Linde helps your team survive a gauntlet of battles, utilizing Icon Class Blue Tome.png Aura's unique passive as well as Breath of Life 3.png Breath of Life 3 and the Breath of Life 3.png Breath of Life 3 seal to heal 15 hp to each ally adjacent to her every time she initiates combat. This build shines in Tempest Trials, where you can use Linde in place of a dedicated healer to push faster runs.

Going over her offensive capabilities, Linde boasts a massive 54 Attack and blisteringly fast 44 speed. This allows her to naturally double nearly EVERY unit in the game (Notable examples who she does NOT double include a Fury Anna, Felicia, Bridal Caeda and Ylissean Summer Gaius, as well as a Mulagir/Fury Brave Lyn). Even in situations where she does not double, Linde's impressive attack stat is capable of punching massive holes in even the hardiest of enemies, leaving her newly invigorated allies to clean up.

Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow is selected both for its low cooldown and its ability to tip exchanges with high speed high resistance units such as Felicia and Anna in Linde's favor.

Proper positioning is critical to taking advantage of Linde's healing capabilities. At certain times it is preferable to position Linde in such a way where she will engage with an enemy she cannot defeat in one round (such as many of the Tempest Trials stat inflated green enemies) simply so your refresher unit can allow her to attack again, doubling her already impressive healing ability. In a pinch Ardent Sacrifice can be used both to push Linde into Desperation range, where she becomes a oppressive offensive force, as well as healing a would-be-doomed ally.

Popular checks and counters to look out for include Hector and Titania, whose undeniable bulk and triangle advantage make for a nearly unwinnable fight for the Light mage as they shrug off her damage and retaliate with lethal damage due to her embarrassingly low defense. Cecilia, Nino and Soren also are more than capable of shutting down Linde, despite taking severe damage in the process if Linde initiates combat. Finally, the newly released Lyn (Brave Heroes) is capable of reaching far beyond what would normally be expected, dealing devastating damage to Linde with the combination of Swift Sparrow and her ability to invalidate any buffs you may have placed on Linde to avoid unfavorable trades.

Due to these weaknesses Linde pairs well with Red Mages and infantry swordsmen. Especially Fury users such as Ike or Ryoma, who can easily pick off the green mages and tanks that get in her way while she keeps the recoil damage from fury in check. Overall Linde is a fantastic unit whose specific niche has never been strongly contested, even with Delthea's increased offensive support. When it comes to Tempest Trials and extended engagements, none can top the versatility and destructive potential of the Light Mage and her legendary tome.

Budget Blade
Click to show/hide build description
This build essentially mirrors her optimal set, but takes the non-plus Icon Class Blue Tome.png Blárblade as well as opts out of Life and Death for budget reasons. The reason taking the lesser version of the tome works is because of Blárblade's effect that boosts damage based on number of buffs Linde has. With a dedicated buff support and her Spd, even with the lesser Mt, she can still do heavy damage and double most units for the KO with that damage.

For her assist, a positioning skill like Icon Skill Assist.png Draw Back or Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition works fine to provide mobility for her teammates.

For her special, we choose Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow for its quick charge time, and due to Blárblade increasing the special count by 1, making other special cooldowns even lengthier.

For her A-passive, as this build aims to build on budget, her default Speed Plus 3.png Speed +3 works fine (as more Speed never hurts), but if available Fury 3.png Fury 3 gives her additional Atk and Spd, as well as a slight boost to her defensive stats (albeit her Def stat being terrible, especially if going -Def). Because of this, Fury can actually be seen as preferable in some instances compared to Life and Death, and is not an entirely suboptimal pick if Life and Death is not available.

For her B-slot, due to her fantastic Spd, we select Desperation 3.png Desperation 3 so that when she falls below a certain threshold, she gains the ability to consecutively double her enemies without giving the enemy chance to counterattack. This works well in conjunction with Fury where the HP drain will eventually drop her into Desperation range.

Her C-slot is flexible and should be taken dependent on what her team needs, although if no other option is available, her default Fortify Res 3.png Fortify Res 3 will suffice, especially if on a team that might require Res buffs to tank and bait magic enemies.

Finally, for her Sacred Seal, either Speed Plus 3.png Speed +3 or Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3 should be used. The former gives her more Speed to potentially double more enemies while the latter can be seen as a method to give her a little more punch (as this build does take the lesser Mt Blárblade as well as potentially having only Speed +3 and not Fury or Life and Death).
