Weapon: Icon Skill Weapon.png Brave Bow+ is the weapon of choice for this build. Lyn has an excellent offensive spread which allows her to use this weapon with extreme potential. Her attack and speed can be bolstered by various skills that would ultimately support this weapon choice further. Between her attack and speed, she can effectively quad hit countless units (and powerfully double other units that she can't become faster than) and eliminate them.

Assist Skill: Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition is an excellent assist skill for many units and Lyn is no exclusion to this. Her high mobility coupled with this skill ensures she is always within reach of allies, posing as potential targets to reposition.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow permits Lyn to deal bonus damage quite frequently as it has a low charge time. If Quickened Pulse is equipped to Lyn, then on her first engagement (assuming she initiates), she will activate it and already be on her way towards activating it a second time.

A Skill: Swift Sparrow 2.png Swift Sparrow 2 permits Lyn to act more offensively in the player phase. As she is equipped with the Icon Skill Weapon.png Brave Bow+ in this build, she becomes an incredible offensive unit when utilizing this skill, buffing bother her attack and speed, which is crucial to most Brave builds. Swift Sparrow 2.png Swift Sparrow 2 also comes naturally built into Lyn so it takes slightly less SP to obtain and does not require a unit as fodder for the skill, making this build more attainable.

B Skill: Sacaes Blessing.png Sacae's Blessing is a very effective counter option that is exclusive to Brave Lyn. This skill allows her to safely engage some of the most dangerous units in the game, like Hector, Ryoma, Camus, and Ike. With the Icon Skill Weapon.png Brave Bow+ equipped, she will not only be able to safely engage these units, but also safely double, if not quad them, due to the nature of the weapon. Having a way to safely weaken these units before committing to the kill is very helpful and this is a very strong way to do just that.

C Skill: Hone Cavalry.png Hone Cavalry is a solid choice for this build, as it is very likely she would be paired with cavalry units. Lyn benefits very much from the hone cavalry buffs so it is only natural for her to have skills like Hone Cavalry.png Hone Cavalry or Fortify Cavalry.png Fortify Cavalry. If Lyn is not going to be run on a cavalry team, she would most likely benefit most from having something like Def Ploy 3, enabling her to debuff those and deal more damage to those affected by the skill.

Sacred Seal: Quickened Pulse.png Quickened Pulse Is an all around good skill for most offensive builds. A faster charge time is always appreciated and in this case, works quite well with Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow.

Brave Lyn's base kit is already so synergistic out of the box that building her should basically be a no-brainer. With just a minimal amount of Skill Inheritance, the defaults resemble near-perfection and don't require you to break your bank or feathers. As a significant number of players chose Lyn as their free 5 star from the banner, and Lyn's base stats are already very good, this set absolutely works with the default neutral statline. If you pulled a +Atk or +Spd version, however, those should be utilized unless the accompanying bane interferes with either stat. Resistance should be untouched as it preserves her bow's anti-mage capabilities.

Icon Skill Weapon.png Mulagir grants Lyn a free 3 points to her Speed (effectively giving her an extra boon to the stat), and thanks to its other effect, enables her to tank and break through the ever-oppressive roster of Bladetome sweepers, especially Cecilia, Olwen, and Linde. It is also legendary, which slightly boosts Arena scores. Overall, there's little need to replace her weapon. With the provided boosts from Lyn's default Swift Sparrow 2.png Swift Sparrow 2, the Brave Lady becomes ridiculously powerful and, more importantly, faster than most standard threats can handle.

The rest of her moveset is simply a flexible multiple choice.

For her assist, Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition and Icon Skill Assist.png Draw Back are good assist skills that allow Lyn to save her teammates from difficult positions.

Special-wise, Icon Skill Special.png Draconic Aura comes with Lyn's base set and works consistently off her great Attack, though Icon Skill Special.png Luna has the potential to sting high-Defense threats more easily.

For the B-slot, there are many choices: Sacaes Blessing.png Sacae's Blessing basically invalidates physical melee units who can counter at a distance on Lyn's turn, giving her the opportunity to safely KO these units such as Ryoma, Hector and other Distant Counter units. If you have those threats covered, however, Desperation 3.png Desperation 3 most certainly is an option to score safe KOes in single skirmishes after Lyn reaches the HP threshold and also works extremely well on Lyn given her speed. Cancel Affinity 3.png Cancel Affinity 3 easily deals with any Raven tome users that are employed as countermeasures to colorless attackers. A weapon breaker of your choice can also be used depending on threats your team has trouble with, though the aforementioned B passives deal with all threats to a general degree.

Atk Smoke 3.png Atk Smoke 3 is basically Seal Atk 3.png Seal Atk 3 on a less compromising passive slot (many units would love to run it, but they need more useful B slots instead) and could present interesting defensive applications when positioned correctly. Lyn can also utilize a cavalry boost to support fellow cavalry units if placed on a horse emblem team. Needless to say, Lyn benefits from Hone Cavalry herself as the Speed boost in particular basically makes it impossible to outmatch her, and she isn't hurting for more Attack boosts either. On other team compositions, regular Hone Atk 3 and Hone Spd 3 support will, of course, suffice.

Because Lyn will be utilizing the famed Icon Skill Weapon.png Firesweep Bow+, this set is significantly more Speed-focused, so a Speed boon is highly recommended to increase damage through doubles. Additionally, as such, the set does not need previously recommended B passives such as Sacae's Blessing or Desperation 3, instead focusing on specific targets through respective skills (Cancel Affinity 3.png Cancel Affinity 3 for those troublesome Raven tome users, Swordbreaker 3.png Swordbreaker 3 to break past +Spd Ryoma with little fuss, etc.).

Atk Smoke 3.png Atk Smoke 3 further drives in the possible "debuffing for free" aspect of the set, though other skills are welcome depending team composition. Swift Sparrow 2.png Swift Sparrow 2 is Lyn's default passive for the A slot, and is thus significantly more efficient and less expensive than more extreme alternatives. To slightly maximize Lyn's damage output and the number of targets she will double, however, Life and Death 3.png Life and Death 3 is very well an option, though it is rare and expensive when paired with Firesweep Bow+.

Due to this set's need for speed and power, it is recommended to feature it on Cavalry teams as her teammates can bestow Hone Cavalry or Goad Cavalry boosts upon her in a jiffy.

Besides her good stat distribution for the role of a magekiller, Lyn has unique advantages in her bow ignoring mage buffs and being a cavalry unit, which we aim to exploit to provide Cavalry Emblem with a new niche toy - an enemy phase mage killer that crushes all nuke (bladetome and Reinhardt) mages, reducing the dependency on player phasing everything. Using the build is simple: give Lyn the cav buffs/ally support if she needs them and plonk her down in range of enemy mages.

As a mage baitkiller, Lyn obviously does not need def, and any of atk, res or even hp (which is a +4 boon) is suitable, although attack provides unique benefits as we will see later. Fury 3.png Fury 3 and Cancel Affinity 3.png Cancel Affinity 3 are logical choices - the first gives her attack and resistance while baiting; Cancel Affinity means she does not have to worry about Triangle Adept 3.png Triangle Adept 3 raventome carriers.

Being a bow magekiller is a double edged sword: it has no weakness to any 'colour', but on the other hand it is weak to every raven tome in the game. No build is perfect and by nature, some raven mages (Sophia, Cecilia, Boey in particular) who do not carry Triangle Adept and carry Bowbreaker will kill any Lyn build in the game unless she carries the corresponding breaker. The tankier raven/Triangle Adept/bowbreak mages (Sophia, Boey, Robin(M)) will live even a Moonbow retaliation from Lyn, although not killing her due to the effect of Cancel Affinity. However, these builds are by nature rare (particularly the raven/fury builds) on defense and furthermore, can be dealt with by the rest of your (cavalry) team fairly easily given how specialized they are as anti bow units.

Ignoring those particular builds, with the cav buffs Lyn will slaughter most of the 'nuke' mages. We will use the summoner support (SS), cavalry buffs and where necessary, ally support to boost her matchup against the most important edge case, the massively-merged-Quickened Pulse.png Quickened Pulse-Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow-Bowbreaker Reinhardt.

With Fury and the Summoner Support at S rank, +ATK-DEF Lyn has defensive stats 40 HP / 33 RES and offensive stats 55 ATK / 43 SPD when unbuffed. Icon Skill Special.png Draconic Aura backed with Quickened Pulse guarantees the one shot on Reinhardt if you are honed, and rewards you if you one shot a mage hitting into you, leaving you a powerful special for another opponent. Moonbow is an option if the Quickened Pulse seal is not available, and should only be taken with a +atk Lyn - Moonbow backed by a hone cavalry will kill all (neutral hp/def) Reinhardt up to +5, with each additional attack point (from merge or ally support) allowing her to one shot Reinhardts with 2 more merges.

With fortify cavalry on her, 40 hp / 39 res survives a hit from 53 attack Moonbow/Quickened Pulse Reinhardt (up to +8). Any source of at least 2 res or hp (merge, ally support) will be enough to let her live through one hit from even a maxed (+10) Reinhardt - thus the Moonbow build with a distant def seal will comfortably survive any (ungoaded) Reinhardt in the game.

In terms of other options, Icon Skill Special.png Iceberg is better on paper compared to native free Draconic Aura by about 1 damage point, so its worth some consideration. G Tomebreaker 3.png G Tomebreaker 3 gives her the ability to beat down some green mages, notably +10 fury Raven Bowbreaker Cecilia and Inigo. Also, Moonbow with the Quickened Pulse seal is an interesting option as it gives you the highest instant retaliation, which ensures the kill on squishy bladetome mages like Nino who might make the switch to Bowbreaker.

Teamwise, the Fortify Res 3.png Fortify Res 3 is worth giving to a carrier of Hone Cavalry.png Hone Cavalry if you do not wish to run a Fortify Cavalry.png Fortify Cavalry unit. With a +res IV the resulting buffed Lyn is almost as tanky as the neutral res Lyn with a hone buff. This could then free up a cavalry teammate to use Goad Cavalry.png Goad Cavalry, for example.
