Lyn has traditionally been a unit known for her blazing speed yet underwhelming and fairly conditional offensive strength. With her Sol Katti refined however, Lyn unleashes latent potential to become one of the most powerful player phase threats in the game. The reason for this lies with a number of extremely powerful synergies that her reforged sword allows her to easily take advantage of. Once she does, Lyn can destroy nearly any unit in the game that she initiates on.

Weapon: Brash Assault W.png Sol Katti with its refined Special skill is Lyn's weapon of choice. Once Lyn reaches 75% of her maximum HP, she is not only able to immediately make her follow-up attack after her first attack, but she guarantees a follow-up attack against any unit regardless of a difference in speed. This means that nearly any target that Lyn initiates on has to weather both her attack and follow-up before they're able to retaliate, a unique combination of skills that forms the basis of Lyn's offensive potential.

Assist: Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition is always a versatile and strong skill that enables your team to move across the map quickly. However, if you want to activate her kit without risk, Icon Skill Assist.png Ardent Sacrifice is recommended. The 10 HP it costs to use is enough to send Lyn into the activation range of her weapon and all her skill in most cases. There are however, some crucial exceptions: if your Lyn is merged or is unfortunate enough to have +HP as her boon, 10 HP is not enough to naturally activate her abilities. This is part of why HP is greatly preferred for her bane, as the threshold in which Ardent Sacrifice consistently activates her skills is quite high (the limit with being level 40+7) whereas Lyns with banes in other stats can only consistently activate through Ardent Sacrifice without any merges at all.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow is the most consistent out of Lyn's choices, its short charge duration allows Lyn to always activate it on her first initiation. However, if you want to take full advantage of Wrath, Icon Skill Special.png Luna is recommended as the Special charge reduction at the start of every turn allows Lyn to consistently activate it every turn after she's reduced to 75% of her maximum HP.

Alternatively, you can use the Heavy Blade 3 seal in tandem with Infantry Pulse 3 and allow Lyn to instantly charge Aether or Galeforce with her first strike. This massively frontloads the first attack she makes on a map at the expense of her consistency in any battles afterwards.

A Skill: Brazen Atk Spd 3.png Brazen Atk/Spd 3 is the core synergy in this build and what gives it so much of its power. The 80% maximum HP threshold complements Sol Katti's requirement almost perfectly, giving her +7 Atk/+7 Spd in tandem with Sol Katti's effects. This transforms Lyn's somewhat modest offensive stat line into something truly fearsome and empowers Sol Katti significantly. Brazen Atk/Def 3 is an alternative, and might actually be preferred if you expect your Lyn to be directly in the fray often. That said, the primary reason that Atk/Spd 3 is valued over Atk/Def 3 is the prevalence of Swordbreaker skills among many units Lyn might face. Swordbreaker and the guaranteed follow-up that Sol Katti provides cancel each other out, meaning Lyn has to naturally out-speed a unit with this skill to get the full effect out of her sword.

B Skill: Wrath 3.png Wrath 3 is heavily preferred for this slot. Because Wrath activates at the same threshold at Sol Katti, Lyn receives a more pronounced benefit from this skill than many other units. The Special charge reduction and most importantly, the additional +10 damage it adds to every activated Special pushes Lyn's offensive capabilities to their absolute limit.

C Skill: As with most units, this is very flexible depending on what you feel that your team needs. If you want your Lyn to play somewhat more selfish however, you can take advantage of her fairly above average Res and give her Def Ploy 3.png Def Ploy 3. This softens up most units who might otherwise be too durable to fall after Lyn's two attacks.

Sacred Seal: Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3 is the best overall choice, helping her secure kills against tougher enemies. Heavy Blade 3.png Heavy Blade 3 in conjunction with a more impactful Special can also be useful if you want to significantly accelerate her first strike on a map.

This build of Lyn has some notable weaknesses. Her naturally low defenses and being required to use some of her HP to activate her skills means that she's extremely susceptible to dying on the enemy phase or even the rare opponent who can withstand her opening attack. This means you should try to make sure Lyn is not within range of another enemy once she's finished with her target, or have a nearby ally ready to Reposition or Dance her to safety. As such, she doesn't fare well against Horse Emblem without significant terrain advantages because of the lack of breathing room or set-up time Lyn needs to truly thrive. And while extremely uncommon on defense, the Hardy Bearing seal knocks the foundation of this build from under it by preventing Lyn from immediately taking her follow-up attack against its' user.

This build is somewhat sensitive to nature, but if you either have a boon in +Atk or a bane in -HP, it should function as intended to varying degrees of complete effectiveness. Though of course ideally, you'd have both. -Spd while the least desirable bane other than -Atk is workable largely because the automatic follow-up that Sol Katti provides does not rely on speed at all, though it does mean Lyn loses against more units with Swordbreaker equipped.

This Build focuses to eliminate Lyns weakness: Her low Atk stat. With the addition of Wrath 3 to FEH that weakness can be eliminated, because Sol Katti and Wrath 3 Synergyze very well. Below 50% HP Sol Kattis Desperation effect kicks in while Wrath 3 effect kicks in too: Lowering the Moonbow Charge to 1 and adding additional 10 Damage for each Moonbow activation. This Build kills alot of units on Player Phase. SPD is the key factor here, if you cant double your Enemys Lyn will most likely die, so SPD buffs from Hone/Spur C-Passives are key. Its best to team this Lyn-Build up with Brave Lucina. Due to her Legendary Lance and C-Skill and Rally Speed Assist Brave Lucina can give Lyn +10 SPD which lets Lyn double basicly every unit due to the fact that she has the third highest Speed in the game.

With a -hp lyn this build can use Ardent Sacrifice to hit the 75% threshold on turn 1. From then on its ORKOing. If you don't have a -hp lyn it's necessary to bait a single attack, or use multiple rounds to get to the 75% hp threshold.

Once below 75% things get wonderful. For a normal Lyn, Brazen atk/speed means your attack is 51 and speed is 44. With 44 Speed, very few things will prevent doubling, but even if they do the Brazen Assult refinement means you will still double melee things with Wary fighter or Swordbreaker. With this 44 speed, you'll also almost certainly proc flashing blade.

Since the round started with Lyn below 75% we then have Wrath procing Luna to Cd 2, after our first attack flashing blade procs Luna. Our follow up attack will then hit with a luna + wrath. Assuming a 40 def red/colorless enemy, and a regular lyn, this second special attack will be hitting for 41 dmg. Add in the first attack (16 dmg) and you're almost certainly ORKOing with 56 dmg.

This build attempts to make the most of the Sol Katti refine.

Weapon: Sol Katti is a requirement. With the Brash Assault 4 refine, it effectively gives Lyn the Desperate Assault combo, which gives her a 16 might brave weapon under 75% HP as long as the opponent can counter.

Assist: Icon Skill Assist.png Ardent Sacrifice is very good on Lyn because without any merges, she only has 40 HP. This means she can reach 75% by using her assist. Reposition is another notable option for movement.

Special: Her special depends on the type of team she's on. If she is on a mixed team with Tactic skills, then Icon Skill Special.png Glimmer is an excellent option, as it increases the damage caused by her inflated Attack stat. If she is not on such a team, then Icon Skill Special.png Luna is a much better option. Keep in mind that running Luna mandates running Infantry Pulse on one of her teammates which is a skill that is only available on 2 five stars and Tempest trials reward Marisa.

A: Brazen Atk Spd 3.png Brazen Atk/Spd 3 synergizes very well with Sol Katti and Wrath. The reason to take Atk/Spd as opposed to Atk/Def is both because it suits Lyn with her meager defenses while also allowing her to double fast mages. Death Blow 3.png Death Blow 3 is a more budget option that provides her with an unconditional attack buff when intiating without a speed buff which results in an inability to double faster mages, thieves, clerics, and archers.

B: The cornerstone of the build, Wrath 3.png Wrath 3 on Lyn makes her quite adept at killing opponents because it gives her extra power that she really appreciates. Unfortunately, it's extremely hard to come by because it's only on one 5 star unit, Nephenee.

C: Again, it really depends on the team she's a part of. Mixed teams that run Tactic skills really benefit from Def Tactic 3.png Def Tactic 3. Lyn's middling defenses makes a defense buff virtually useless on her. She's more suited to provide that buff to her teammates. If she's not run on that type of team, then Spur Atk Spd 2.png Spur Atk/Spd 2 is an excellent offensive option that shouldn't ever be overlooked.

Seal: Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3 provides her with a little more offensive power.

Good Teammates: Lyn appreciates duelists who can eliminate bulkier Wary Fighter Armor units. While she can kill most of them with her Wrath boosted attacks, she still struggles to fight enemies with higher defenses who she can't use her special on. Guard 3.png Guard 3 also stops her from fighting well. Units like Eldigan, Ephraim(Legendary Lord) and Chrom(The Branded King) who are horsemen with high attack and defense stats really help Lyn take clutch kills. Mages with high power like Sonya and Eirika(Sacred Memories) are also very good options.

Lyn may not have that great of an Atk stat, even with a 16 might weapon, but if you were to get her with an Atk+ IV and anything else but -Spd, you're gonna have fun. Now, of course, Sol Katti stays, but you refine it with the +Spd refinement. Why that instead of the "invaluable" Brash Assault? Think about it: if she already has well over 40 Spd, why give her a redundant skill like that? That being said, she will gain 5 HP from the Spd refinement, but this is why a -HP Lyn would be good. She would have 34 base HP, but with the refinement, that's 39, which is just enough to activate the built-in Desperation from only one use of Ardent Sacrifice. As for the rest of her skills, Fury is an obviously good choice, bringing much needed stats to the table. For the B slot, I would actually prefer Wrath, because if she gets low enough, she can shred with Desperation active and the 10 extra damage on top of the Special proc. If that's not good enough, then Swordbreaker would be a preferable option to counter other super fast swords. C skills, of course, could be anything really, but with 32 Res, it's just good enough for Ploys like Def Ploy or Spd Ploy to work for her, further enhancing her strength. As for the seal, I'd give her Attack +, but with the extremely high possibility of a Flashing Blade seal being released in the not-too-distant future, the latter would be an excellent choice for proccing Moonbow on a Desperation round, essentially allowing for an assassination. Will update if/when the Flashing Blade seal comes out.

Past builds of Lyn involved the use of Brash Assault as her B slot to synergize with the built in Desperation 2 of her Sol Katti. However, with the introduction of the Brash Assault 3 sacred seal, her B Slot has been freed up to allow for more options. Theoretically, this means that with Distant Counter in her A slot, when Lyn is below 50% HP, she can abuse the perks Vantage, Brash Assault, and Desperation all before allowing her opponent to make an attack. Disclaimer: I have not tried this myself as I don't have a Lyn or spare Hector to fodder off, but the sheer theoretical power is enough to make me want to try it if I could.

so yeah the IVs i got were not great however with this build they work pretty well.

With weapon Refine we can get Brash Assault into our weapon but even better because works from 75% or less. For A skill we want fury 3: that will help to get in the range of our weapon natural passive and the one we got from refine For B we want vantage cause thanks to our weapon we can double at anyone without taking hits back and vantage opens up that option also in the enemy phase! For C we want threaten def 3 cause lyn attack is fairly low so we want to get their def as low as possible

For seal go with Attack +3 so you reach 50 attack helping you to kill units with decent def(still tanks and unit with color advantage will probably kill you)

Both variants of this build are sticking Lyn in the thick of things and letting her mop up. With either Fury or Distant Counter she's going to stray below 75% quickly, and even if she's OHKOing enemies, she should be activating Galeforce at least once per map, if not more. If running the Fury build, the assist slot is a lot more open. Just keep a source of healing close by just in case.

Flashing Blade Lyn
Click to show/hide build description
With Lyn's low HP total, Ardent Sacrifice drops her to exactly 75% hp in one use, assuming you haven't merged at all, turning on all of her abilities. This should enable her to proc Galeforce after her first engage. As for wrath I'm not sure how it would interact with galeforce since it's not a combat effecting special and I havent actually tested this build myself. Quickened Pulse is good for getting off galeforce before using ardent sacrifice, close defense to give her a shot at survival if hit by weaker enemies. Phantom speed may not be a bad option as well to proc flashing blade even off of the high speed units of the current meta. If Galeforce doesn't work with Wrath than Aether makes for a great substitution to give her more kill potential. Alternatively you can replace wrath with something along the lines of vantage for a better enemy phase
