This build for Narcian takes advantage of his weapon and the skills he already comes with, while finding skills to get from commonly found units or units that were free. His Emerald Axe+ does the job just fine in letting him combat blues. With his well rounded stats, his heightened advantage can even let him withstand a blow from some blue mages, although he wouldn't be able to retaliate without Distant Counter, which is an expensive option. His preferred Assist is Reposition, which has good offensive and defensive capabilities. He can either propel an ally ahead to let them get the jump on an enemy, or he can use it to help an ally retreat from danger. His preferred Special is Bonfire, as it runs off of his good 32 Def, adding a consistent 16 damage to his attack. Moonbow is an alternative that has a faster charge, and can help break through higher Def units. Spd +3 and the Spd +1 Seal attempt to patch up his average Spd. Sacrificing a Michalis to give Narcian the Iote's Shield can be another option to patch up his bow weakness. Narcian's Lancebreaker is kept, as it allows him to one round and punish any lance user thanks to its effect and his weapon. Finally, Savage Blow is also kept to add splash damage to the foe's team and potentially soften them or weaken them for another unit to take on.

Hitman Narcian
Click to show/hide build description
This build is designed with a few purposes in mind: 1) to have a method of reliably bypassing otherwise streak-ending incidents with Vantage, 2) providing more utility than a unit with Hardy Bearing, and 3) having a "safe poke" that can seriously dent any unit with Bonfire, from the safety of Windsweep. Additionally, between his solid HP and decent defensive stats, Narcian provides enough of a mixed defensive line with a weapon refine that he can typically survive encounters with targets that his Sweep skill doesn't cover, such as dragons, and especially while on a defensive tile. The benefit of a three-hit cooldown special is especially useful with Slaying Axe, ensuring that the special will be ready upon his first counterattack, assuming he safely attacks a melee unit to gain one charge on his special. Without any merges, with the help of Fury and Phantom Sweep 3, Windsweep's threshold for safely attacking is pushed up to 41 speed -- more than enough to safely poke at any unit except a +Spd Mia or Ayra, which can be optionally solved by using +Spd refine instead of +Def or +Res, or picking up a buff beforehand.

As an alternative, Watersweep can be subbed in for Windsweep if you're having significant issues with the current Steady Breath + Vantage + QR seal Dragon meta.

Additionally, Fury ensures that you'll be seeing Narcian's "damaged" art by the end of most matches -- and who could live without such gloriously silly art in their lives?
