Weapon Forge opened a lot of options for every decent unit. Ogma's offensive stats are really good, he's just not a Brave user. With this build, Ogma reaches 54 ATK (with L&D), 42 SPD (45 with a Speed +3 seal) and 23 DEF (which is low but enough to not lose too much HP in one hit). His RES will drop to a miserable 5 but it was already low on the first place (Dragons may be a problem but Ogma has 47/52 HP, only an high atk Nowi would be capable to one shot him but you won't engage her). Wo Dao+ and Moonbow is a great combo, but this build uses a speed forged Slaying Edge+ with Luna, which means you will trigger Luna on every battle with retaliation from the enemy. They tend to have the same effectiveness on Arena. On singleplayer, where there can appear crazy high HP units, maybe Luna's higher damage may not be redundant. Another unit with Infantry Pulse is HIGHLY raccomended as it will make this build much better (that or quickened pulse make Galeforce viable in 1 fight with retaliation). His C is Infantry Pulse, which is really useful on infantry teams, as long as the requirements are met. This is a little costly though, and you may prefer using Dorcas on your team if you have it since he has it as his standard C, but if you have a Summer Xander to spare then it's fine. If you don't have it, then any buff C is welcome, or what your team needs. The seals are optional: Speed +3 would make Ogma reach 45 Speed but if you have someone to buff his speed it becomes redundant. Quickened Pulse can also be really useful if you want to make the build even more explosive, or to use Ogma in a non-infantry team. It's probably more important on another unit though. Suggested team mates: Dorcas with its Infantry Pulse (excellent defensive unit), Linde/Delthea (with Dark Aurora, +6 Attack at the start of the turn is REALLY good, expecially if it comes with Hone Speed) or a buff Eirika/Ephraim, any dancer or bladetome user (Inigo or Shigure are both).

Weapon: Icon Class Red Sword.png Brave Sword+ is Ogma's default weapon. The point of this build is to maximize Ogma's Atk stat to allow him to inflict as much damage as possible on both player, and enemy phase. Ogma has a very usuable Atk and Speed stat. Whether or not he is utilizing the boosts from either Summoner Support or Ally Support, Ogma can very effectively take down a majority of units on player phase, while still being able to both take, and dish out heavy damage on enemy phase using Quick Riposte.

Assist Skill: Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition is well-known to be the best assist skill for a majority of the cast. Icon Skill Assist.png Swap is also a very effective replacement.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Aether allows Ogma to deal immense bonus damage quite often thanks to both his Brave Sword, and Quick Riposte. The 50% healing effect keeps his HP high enough to strengthen his blows via Fire Boost. Icon Skill Special.png Luna can be used as a substitute, allowing Ogma to still deal immense damage, even more frequently; though at the cost of not having any sort of self recovery if his HP drops below the enemy unit threshold.

A Skill: Fire Boost 3.png Fire Boost 3 gives Ogma a substantial boost in Atk. As long as his HP remains higher than his enemy's, which is quite often thanks to both Icon Skill Special.png Aether and the HP Plus 3.png HP +3 seal, Ogma is allowed to keep this Atk boost on both player and enemy phase.

B Skill: Quick Riposte 3.png Quick Riposte 3 is what makes this build unique. This allows Ogma to attack twice on enemy phase when above the 70% HP threshold, regardless of his speed. This skill has amazing synergy with both Fire Boost 3.png Fire Boost 3 and Icon Skill Special.png Aether, as it boost Ogma's abilities to their highest, when his HP is at it's highest.

C Skill: Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3 rounds out this build. While a large investment, since Ogma is trying to maximize his HP in this build, Panic Ploy just feels fitting. It allows Ogma to both tank and kill many enemies that otherwise may prove a threat on both player and enemy phase. It also makes this build more usable without Summoner or Ally Support.

Sacred Seal: HP Plus 5.png HP +5 is this Ogma's sacred seal of choice. Thanks to Fire Boost, it provides both more defense, as well as more offense. If you are using both this and Squad Ace A 3.png Squad Ace A 3 on other units, you may also substitute Speed Plus 3.png Speed +3.

In essence, this build is similar to the current Melee Bruiser build. However, rather than use Swordbreaker to earn free hits on Mia, Arya, and other popular Swordies like Elincia and Ryoma, Desperation and Life and Death are run to quickly get Ogma into a range where he can activate Desperation and start ORKOing targets. Moonbow paired with a Wo Dao+ refined with a Speed upgrade gives him a nice and blistering 45 Speed, ensuring targets that aren't buffed guaranteed will not double him (unless a niche build like A slot Speed +3 Seal Speed +3 Mia, for example), and he doubles most units in the game. A refined weapon also gives +5 HP, making Panic Ploy the strongest seal he can equip, debuffing enemy Armor Emblem, Flier Emblem, and Horse Emblem teams through their own buffing effects; 52 HP is hard to rival.
Life and Death or Fury is a choice of survivability. Do you appreciate Life and Death's extra Speed increases and no immediate health chipping, or do you want to be able to attack targets with constant buffs to everything, including his pathetic Resistance, while chipping at your own HP to get you into Desperation range? Desperation makes or breaks the build, wherareas other builds may leave you open to attacks inbetween hits or, in the case of Brave builds, not having as much power as you may want them to have, Desperation Wo Dao lets you attack twice, and very likely proc Moonbow, not only cutting the target's Defense, but then stacking 10 damage on top of that. If you're desperate for initiation damage, Death Blow is also a viable alternative for the A slot, but Brave builds do Death Blow more justice.
The C slot is really the only other remaining slot left, and Threaten Defense works well for weakening targets around Ogma. However, if you are running a primarily Infantry team, Infantry Pulse is viable from a Dorcas or Xander's Summer variant (if you still are carrying him around) to buff the remaining members of a team. If you have neither of these, a generic Spur or Hone also works. Whatever floats the team's boat is what Ogma is prepared to use.

Initiating Quad Ogma
Click to show/hide build description
This build is aimed at making Ogma as destructive as possible in melee combat during player phase.

If Ogma's HP falls to the 50% HP or less threshold of Brash Assault 3.png Brash Assault 3, this build reaches its full potential, allowing him do effectively quad hit any non-firesweep weapon melee unit in the game regardless of speed. Desperation 3.png Desperation 3 allows him to do so consecutively.

Using Icon Skill Special.png Luna with this build allows him to do better vs. tanky units, but you can try other alternatives such as Icon Skill Special.png Glimmer, which can also be very effective, or even Icon Skill Special.png Astra, since brave weapons allow specials to load faster when attacking.

Infantry Pulse 3.png Infantry Pulse 3 and Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3 are great on him because of the high HP stat and are great for either negating buffs on enemies or boosting your team's specials, thus making him generally more useful.
