Despite Palla's fairly balanced stat lineup, she can run an offensive Wo Dao set surprisingly well. Her own special, Skilliconspecial Moonbow, synergises well with Icon Class Red Sword Wo Dao's bonus damage whenever the special procs. When Moonbow is ready, Palla can KO a good amount of common units such as Ike, Hector or Xander, and even a few fragile blue units like Linde or Corrin (F) (Nohrian Summer). However, this set is comparatively weak when Moonbow isn't ready. The best way to play this set is to charge up Moonbow on a green unit or a physically frail ranged unit and fire off a special on the next turn. A Speed boon is preferred to ensure Palla doubles - and avoids getting doubled by - more units.

Wo Dao+ and Moonbow are the choices for weapon and special on this build due to their synergy together: Moonbow has the lowest cooldown of all the specials, and allows Wo Dao's bonus damage effect to activate often. For the assist, either Skilliconassist Reposition or Skilliconassist Draw Back works and is up to the players' preference.

Fury 3 Fury 3 is the preferred A passive, as it increases Palla's damage output whilst also boosting her already respectable defensive stats. With Fury and +Spd and the Speed Plus 1 Speed +1 seal, Palla reaches a respectable speed stat of 38 which is enough to avoid getting doubled by a lot of common units. Thanks to Fury's defensive stat boost, Palla can also tank a hit if neccessary. Alternatively, Swift Sparrow 2 Swift Sparrow 2 can be run to secure a few more KO's, however it misses the extra bulk from Fury.

For the B slot, Swordbreaker 3 Swordbreaker 3 is the preferred option. It allows Palla to double sword units not running Swordbreaker like Vantage Ryoma. It also prevents enemy units with Swordbreaker from doubling Palla through Swordbreaker. If one of Palla's allies can already reliably deal with sword units, Hit and Run Hit and Run can be used to increase survivability after battle.

Palla's own C skill, Goad Fliers Goad Fliers, can be kept or replaced by a C skill of choice.

The good old Brave weapon build we all know, and for a good reason. The set listed above ORKO's a good portion of the meta, even scoring KO's on frailer blue units such as Reinhardt and Cordelia. There are very few Green and Red units that survive Palla's first initiation and even less that survive when she is under the effect of Hone Fliers. This set does, however, give up Palla's respectable defenses in favour of one-shotting a lot of units. If you already have a way of dealing with Red units or a different heavy hitter, a more anti-green focused Palla build might be better. That said, Brave Sword Palla can still take a hit from most Axe units. Brave Sword also allows Palla to double with her otherwise average speed.

Icon Class Red Sword Brave Sword+ is the crux of this set, allowing Palla to double the enemy before they can counter back. Thanks to Palla's decent Defense, even if she doesn't manage to kill the enemy on the first hit, she can often take a hit from other Sword units.

As for the assist, Skilliconassist Reposition and Skilliconassist Draw Back are the best options. Due to Palla being airborne, her mobility means she has more freedom in using these assist skills. Reposition can also move allied units over otherwise impassable terrain such as mountains or water.

Skilliconspecial Luna is the preferred special, as Palla will have it ready after one round of combat. She can initiate onto a Green unit or some of the Red units such as Lucina and Ryoma, and have Luna ready for the next initiation. Alternatively, if you want to finish units off in the very first round of combat, Skilliconspecial Moonbow Quickened Pulse Quickened Pulse is a solid combination but will lose damage overall compared to Luna

Death Blow 3 Death Blow 3 is the preferred A passive due to its synergy with Brave Sword+. Upon initiating, it grants Palla 6 additional attack, which gets doubled by Brave Sword's effect.

For the B slot, Swordbreaker 3 Swordbreaker 3 is the best option. It allows her to KO bulkier sword units like Draug, Zephiel and Xander. When running Swordbreaker, Palla will OHKO all red and green units with the only exceptions being Eldigan and fully buffed Leo. Hence running a different breaker skill is somewhat redundant. The other options for the B slot are Hit and Run Hit and Run or Drag Back Drag Back for extra safety.

When Palla is run on a Flier team which is highly recommended due to the strength of the Flier Buffs, she can either keep Goad Fliers Goad Fliers or swap it out for one of the other 3 flier buffs. On mixed teams, Guidance 3 Guidance 3 is an option to consider as it allows Palla's allies to move around the map faster. The C slot can also be used for a Hone, Fortify or Spur of choice when Palla is used outside of Flier Emblem.

Anti-Green Palla
Click to show/hide build description
Offensive blue powerhouses like Reinhardt and Cordelia are very prevalent in the current metagame and most teams will have a strong Green unit on their team to deal with them. Palla is one of the units that has Ruby Sword as their default weapon, and she has decent speed, defense and resistance. As a result, she can fullfill the role of Anti-Green unit quite well, both within Flier Emblem or outside of it. This set is mostly an Enemy Phase set, meaning that it requires the player to bait enemies into attacking Palla. The set fails to KO some of the faster green units when Palla initiates without her special ready. One thing that should be mentioned about this set is that it requires either a +spd boon or a speed buff from a teammate, as Palla will get knocked out by fully buffed Gronnblade+ Camilla (Spring Festival) and Cecilia if she's not carrying Green Tomebreaker with a neutral speed stat.

Icon Class Red Sword Ruby Sword+ is the preferred weapon for this set. It boosts the Weapon Triangle Advantage by an additional 20% which is really important for surviving strong green units such as Cherche or Camilla (Spring Festival), who otherwise would KO Palla.

For the assist, one of Skilliconassist Reposition, Skilliconassist Draw Back or Skilliconassist Swap can be chosen based on the player's preference. Draw Back gets a special mention as it allows Palla to effectively move an extra tile and get in range of an enemy green unit.

Skilliconspecial Luna is the preferred special, as it allows Palla to initiate on the enemy with a fully charged Luna after baiting in a Green unit that can't double Palla like Sheena. Luna allows Palla to KO a good portion of Red Mages and Colourless units, as well as every Green unit, with the exception of Amelia, left on the field.

Distant Counter Distant Counter is the A skill on this build and, like Ruby Sword, is required to run the set efficiently as an Anti-Green set. It allows Palla to KO any Green mage who attempts to attack her whilst taking minimal damage from most of them.

For the B skill, Quick Riposte 3 Quick Riposte 3 is preferred as it allows Palla to KO every common Green unit with the exception of Melon Crusher+ Sheena, Beruka and Hector. If Palla is running Skilliconspecial Moonbow, however, all three aforementioned units will get KO'd when they intiate onto Palla. If Palla doesn't have a +spd nature, G Tomebreaker 3 G Tomebreaker 3 is advised as it prevents fully buffed Spring Camilla and Cecilia from KO'ing Palla. However, you do lose out on some KO's on green units like Minerva.

Lastly, Palla can keep her own Goad Fliers Goad Fliers in the C slot when ran on a Flier team. It can also be replaced by any of the other 3 Flier buffs. When ran outside of Flier Emblem, Guidance or one of the Hone, Fortify or Spur skills can be used in the C slot depending on the players' preference.

Thanks to Palla's default access to both Ruby Sword+ and Moonbow, she makes for a surprisingly effective Enemy Phase anti-axe unit, even with minimal investment. Coupled with Fury, Palla's stats go from seemingly average to fairly good, taking zero damage from common axe units such as Hector or Cherche. She also serves as a good Green Tome tank as a result of Ruby Sword. However, Ruby Sword unfortunately means that Palla is not going to do anything against blue units and as such, Lance wielders, Blue Manaketes and Blue Tome users should be avoided at all cost.

Icon Class Red Sword Ruby Sword+ is the obvious choice for this build, amplifying the weapon triangle and as such, allowing Palla to stop easily wall Axe units. It is also Palla's default weapon which means it requires no additional resources

For the assist, any one of Skilliconassist Reposition, Skilliconassist Swap or Skilliconassist Draw Back works, and is up to the player's preference or availability

Skilliconspecial Moonbow is Palla's default special and works well with her playstyle of baiting a green unit and then either using it during the duel with said axe unit if she doubles the enemy, or having it ready to fire for the next duel she engages. With Moonbow ready, Palla can secure KO's on frailer units like Sanaki or Lucina when she initiates with it

Fury 3 Fury 3 is the preferred A skill, as it makes Palla surprisingly tanky when coupled with the effect of Ruby Sword. If Fury is not available, Attack Plus 3 Attack +3 can be run as a substitute to help Palla win against the green axe units she otherwise wouldn't be able to finish off. However, if Palla doesn't have a +spd boon, Speed Plus 3 Speed +3 is the preferred A slot of choice as this ensures Camilla (Spring Festival) and Cecilia with Gronnblade+ will almost never double Palla.

For the B slot, Swordbreaker 3 Swordbreaker 3 is the preferred option and it allows Palla to combat other swords more easily. It allows KO's on units such as Vantage Lucina or Vantage Ryoma. It also prevents enemy Sword units that commonly carry Swordbreaker but can't naturally double Palla, such as Eirika, from activitating Swordbreaker and doubling Palla. Alternatively, Palla can keep her own b-skill: Wings of Mercy 3 Wings of Mercy 3, allowing her to teleport to units below 50% hp, and either attempt to finish off an enemy unit or bring the damaged unit to safety by using an assist skill.

For the C slot, Palla can keep Goad Fliers Goad Fliers when used in a Flier team, or inherit a Hone, Fortify or Spur skill based on the player's preference.

This is essentially a red traditional Cordelia build. LnD puts her Atk at a respectable 56, high enough to proc heavy blade relatively often. It also bumps her Spd enough to avoid being doubled. Whitewing Blade is perfect because of it's brave effect. This grants her 4CD while near her flier team, and Galeforce will proc after a single retaliation, so after moving away with hit and run she has the option to jump back into battle or Reposition one of her allies.

Palla may seem to lack the swiftness and brute force of other typical sword units, especially when it comes to utilizing a Icon Class Red Sword Firesweep S+. However, unlike most other swords, Palla has the distinction of being a flier, and can thus richly benefit from flier-specific support skills such as Hone Fliers and Goad Fliers. Palla's normally middling Attack and Speed are also compensated with Firesweep Sword's high Might, her chosen A-slot passive skill, and flier buffs. Though Elincia is a more qualified user of the weapon to due more optimized stats, it is far easier to obtain (and merge, if applicable) an ideal-natured Palla than Elincia. Even if the player already owns an Elincia, her already-good legendary weapon, Amiti, is also too good to pass up under most circumstances.

Firesweep Sword+ has very good Might of 15 and allows Palla to make powerful, uncounterable and uninterrupted attacks, at the expense of her enemy phase capabilities. With Reposition support from her fellow fliers, Palla can potentially beat the majority of enemies or even clean up maps untouched.

With the Speed Plus 3 Speed +3 and without taking into account Palla's chosen A-slot passive skill, an unmerged Palla can reach a respectable 37 Speed, which can be further boosted with the help of a Hone Fliers boost or multiple Goad Fliers. Life and Death 3 Life and Death 3 is a primary option in the A-slot because it maximizes both Attack and Speed the most at 5 each. Though the Defense and Resistance drops don't bode well for Palla's bulk, she is unlikely to be doubled and will mostly be able to take one attack at minimum in emergencies. Swift Sparrow 2 Swift Sparrow 2 preserves Palla's decent bulk instead, but falls short of Life and Death's boosts by one while being more difficult to acquire. Firesweep weapon users are also supposed to exclusively in player phase, so the defense drops from Life and Death aren't worth too much worry.

As usual of melee fliers, Hit and Run Hit and Run is a splendid skill for providing a means of retreat after battle. If Palla doesn't manage to bring her target down, Hit and Run allows her to move one space away, and move even further away and out of enemy range if her teammates can use Reposition on her. Swordbreaker 3 Swordbreaker 3 can also be considered to enable better matchups against normally undoublable fast sword units such as Ayra and Fury Ryoma, though Hit and Run will provide generally better benefits.

Skilliconspecial Luna and Skilliconspecial Moonbow are chosen specials due to their low cooldown and hefty damage increase against high-Defense enemies; Palla also comes with Moonbow on her own. Skilliconassist Reposition is standard on most melee fliers and helps Palla rescue her fellow teammates from enemy range. Finally, the C-skill slot is flexible, though Palla natively comes with Goad Fliers Goad Fliers which is an already-great offensive flier support skill.
