Reinhardt is a major player phase threat, thanks to a combination of his high movement and his Dire Thunder, which is basically a Brave tome. He's got a good enough Atk stat to put it to good use, letting him dispatch a lot of units he comes across.

Weapon: Icon Class Blue Tome.png Dire Thunder is the only weapon Reinhardt needs. It strikes twice consecutively, and those two strikes are usually all Reinhardt needs to shock his foes. It also drops his Spd by -5, but since his Spd is already low, it is rendered a moot point. That is also why a -Spd bane is optimal on him, as it is a dump stat and would not compromise his defenses. However, he'll be fine with any stat variant as long as he's not -Atk.

Assist: Icon Skill Assist.png Draw Back is a good Assist in general to use for ranged units. Its uses are more defensive, allowing the user and an ally to move back one space. Ranged units usually don't want to be in the line of fire too much, so Draw Back can help them retreat. Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition is another good Assist, which can either help bring an ally closer to the fray, or bring an ally out of danger. Cavalry units put it to great use with their high Mov.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow is Reinhardt's Special, which lets him pierce through an enemy's Res. However, he needs to have the Quickened Pulse Seal when using this skill, as he'd be able to activate it on the second strike. If the Seal is unavailable and Reinhardt is using a different Seal, then Icon Skill Special.png Luna would be preferred instead. It also lines up well with the rhythm of his attacks. He'll be able to strike twice and defeat an opponent, and his next victim will take two strikes, with the second hit having Luna charged.

A Passive: Death Blow 3.png Death Blow 3 is the only A skill Reinhardt needs, as he's strictly a player phase unit. It grants him +6 Atk when he initiates combat, which can help him power through a lot of units.

B Passive: Lancebreaker 3.png Lancebreaker 3 is an option for his B skill, which can let him annihilate any lance wielder. He would be able to perform quadruple strikes against them, almost assuredly firing off his Special as well. However, this skill slot is ultimately flexible, open to be anything else the player needs. Some options include Wings of Mercy 3, which could help improve his already great mobility, letting him warp over to an injured ally and potentially catch foes off guard. Chill Res 3 or Chill Spd 3, while far more elusive, could help support his team by debuffing an enemy unit from afar.

C Passive: Goad Cavalry.png Goad Cavalry is an option for Reinhardt's C skill if he's on a cavalry team, letting him buff the offenses of his cavalry allies. However, this skill slot is flexible, open to be whatever else the player needs depending on their discretion and team composition.

Sacred Seal: Quickened Pulse is necessary as Reinhardt's Seal if he is using Moonbow, as it helps bring the charge down to 1 so that he can activate it in his first engagement. Should it be in use or is unavailable, then a simple Atk boost with Attack Plus 3.png Attack +3 will help maximize his power.

Thunder's Sweep
Click to show/hide build description
This defense team build aims to surprise Reinhardt's usual checks by letting him safely engage units that would normally destroy him through the use of -Sweep skills, denying enemy counterattacks. This will help his team safely approach the enemy team, and also get free damage on the enemies.

Weapon: Icon Class Blue Tome.png Dire Thunder is the only weapon Reinhardt needs. It strikes twice consecutively, and those two strikes are usually all Reinhardt needs to shock his foes. It also drops his Spd by -5, but since his Spd is already low, it normally wouldn't matter much, but it does work to his detriment in a build like this.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Luna is Reinhardt's Special, which lets him pierce through an enemy's Res. It also lines up well with the rhythm of his attacks. He'll be able to strike twice and defeat an opponent, and his next victim will take two strikes, with the second hit having Luna charged.

A Passive: Life and Death 3.png Life and Death 3 is Reinhardt's A skill. It's a bit unusual considering how slow he normally is, but he does actually need some kind of Spd to properly -Sweep his targets. Swift Sparrow 2.png Swift Sparrow 2 is an alternative option that gives less Atk and Spd, but it also doesn't drop his defenses, so if he has to take a hit, he won't fold as fast.

B Passive: Watersweep 3.png Watersweep 3 is the key for this set. If Reinhardt is faster than an enemy mage or dragon, they will be unable to counterattack. While Reinhardt is normally quite slow, the Phantom Spd 3 Seal helps increase his Spd for this calculation, letting him -Sweep more targets. Dragons are often quite slow as well. Windsweep 3.png Windsweep 3 will work just as well, trading the ability to deny dragons and mages to being able to deny melee weapons. This helps deter enemies with Distant Counter, like many armored units. Said armored units are also slow enough to be swept. The choice of -Sweep skill depends on what kind of unit Reinhardt wants to surprise.

Sacred Seal: Phantom Spd 3 is necessary for a build like this to work, as it grants him +10 Spd when used in calculations for -Sweep skills, which will help him deny counterattacks from units that would normally annihilate him.

The Chains of Thunder
Stats: +Atk/-Spd,-Def,-Res,-HP
Click to show/hide build description
This build is a bit unorthodox, but is best used in longer, drawn out maps like Chain Challenges or Tempest. The goal is to get Reinhardt injured enough for Desperation and Brash Assault to activate, letting him quadruple strike against any ranged opponent, while annihilating any melee foe through sheer power alone.

Special: Icon Skill Special.png Luna is a good Special for Reinhardt to use, letting him pierce through an enemy's Res, potentially muscling through more resistant targets. Icon Skill Special.png Draconic Aura is an acceptable option which would add damage based off Reinhardt's Atk, which should be pretty high with Death Blow and any buffs he may have.

A Passive: Death Blow 3.png Death Blow 3 is the only A skill Reinhardt needs, as he's strictly a player phase unit. It grants him +6 Atk when he initiates combat, which can help him power through a lot of units.

B Passive: Desperation 3.png Desperation 3 Reinhardt's B skill. It may seem strange, as it's best used on high Spd units, but it pairs perfectly with the Brash Assault 3 Seal. Desperation lets any follow up attacks occur consecutively, while Brash Assault lets the user perform a follow up attack regardless of Spd as long as the user is injured enough and the opponent can counterattack.

C Passive: This skill slot is flexible, open to be whatever the player needs. A buffing skill, like a Drive or a Tactic skill could suffice, but this is up to the player's discretion and team composition. Savage Blow 3 or Res Smoke 3 could be considered to help soften up his next opponent.

Sacred Seal: Brash Assault 3.png Brash Assault 3 is Reinhardt's B skill, which pairs perfectly with Desperation 3 as his B skill. Brash Assault lets the user perform a follow up attack regardless of Spd as long as the user is injured enough and the opponent can counterattack, while Desperation would let that follow up attack occur consecutively. The end result is that Reinhardt will be able to perform quadruple strikes against any ranged opponent as long as Reinhardt is injured enough.

As this build requires Reinhardt to be injured, a refresher with Wings of Mercy 3 is also required. Reinhardt also needs to take enough damage somehow, so he'd need to exchange blows or take a hit, but once he's at half health, then he'll be ready to wreak havoc. After he attacks, the refresher would be able to warp over and refresh, ready to strike again or retreat from danger.
