Description | Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). Neutralizes "effective against flying" bonuses. If foe does not use magic or staff, calculates damage using foe's Res, and if unit’s HP > 1 and foe would reduce unit’s HP to 0, unit survives with 1 HP. (Once per combat. Does not stack.) |
Notes[ | ]
- Hel's Reaper has the same effect as Iote's Shield.
- Only neutralizes "Effective against flying foes".
- This includes Excalibur, Grafcalibur, Tender Excalibur, Tome of Order, Winds of Change and Bows.
- Magic refers to .
- Hel's Reaper does not calculate damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res, and therefore isn't affected by skills like Mystic Boost 4 and Splashy Bucket+.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- Hel's Reaper is triggered by the foe's attack and reduces the damage taken from that attack.
- The unit with Hel's Reaper only survives a single attack, so a second attack will still be lethal.
- If unit is at exactly at 1 HP and is hit with a lethal attack, Hel's Reaper will not trigger.
- Hel's Reaper's "Unit survives with 1 HP" effect is considered a Special effect, so effects that neutralize non-Special "Unit survives with 1 HP" effects such as Fatal Smoke 4 do not apply to Hel's Reaper's "Unit survives with 1 HP" effect.
- Hel's Reaper stacks with other effects that allow a unit to survive with 1 HP.
Upgrades[ | ]
Can be upgraded in the Weapon Refinery. For a list of other such weapons, see list of upgradable weapons.
Notes[ | ]
- "If foe initiates combat" means if a foe triggers combat during the enemy phase. The unit being initiated upon does not need to deal damage, nor be able to counterattack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit being initiated upon must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The stat increase that can be applied by refined Hel's Reaper is considered a temporary buff.
- The healing effect is triggered regardless if Refined Hel's Reaper's user performs an attack during combat. If foe engages and user cannot counterattack, Refined Hel's Reaper's healing effect will still trigger.
- Refined Hel's Reaper's user needs to survive the combat for the healing effect to trigger.
- Refined Hel's Reaper's healing effect stacks with skills such as Fury 4, that deal out of combat damage to their owner after combat.
- Refined Hel's Reaper's after combat healing will not work if the foe has a skill that prevents HP recovery such as Fatal Smoke 4 or Incurable+, or the user has been inflicted with Deep Wounds.
- The damage boosting effect of Hel's Reaper ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage reduction effects such as Armored Beacon, Dragon Wall 3, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if both Buffer 4 and Godlike Reflexes activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 70% instead of 90%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 50%) × (1 − 40%) = 30% of the original damage.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
