Highlights[edit source]

Pros Cons

+ Has excellent base attack and decent speed (35/32)

+ Has great mobility due to being a flier. Can bypass terrain and obstacles

+ Is the only non-seasonal unit to come with Hone Fliers, making her a natural complement to any flier team.

- Vulnerable to archers

- Speed is barely scraping the threshold of inconvenience for Brave Weapons, which can be inconvenient if she does not receive Hone Fliers (but this can be remedied somewhat with Goad Fliers)

Checks & Counters[edit source]

  • As a flier, archers are a severe hazard for Hinoka.  Icon Portrait Merric.png Merric can also pose a problem as well with his legendary tome Excalibur.
  • She has mediocre resistance for a flier. Most green mages such as  Icon Portrait Nino.png Nino,  Icon Portrait Julia.png Julia,  Icon Portrait Soren.png Soren can easily deal with her.

Team Options[edit source]

Any red flier makes a great partner for Hinoka, to cover her weaknesses.  Icon Portrait Elincia.png Elincia and  Icon Portrait Nowi (Trick or Defeat!).png Nowi (Trick or Defeat!) benefit greatly from Hone Fliers to boost their offenses, while  Icon Portrait Palla.png Palla has a big advantage over greens with her Ruby Sword.

Standard Brave Lance+

Hinoka is like Cordelia, both default equipped with Brave Lance+. Hinoka though has slightly less Spd and Res, but better HP and Def.

Like most Brave weapon users, this build focuses on increasing Hinoka's Atk to maximize the damage she deals in both Brave hits. Thus, we take +ATK as her boon and Death Blow 3.png Death Blow 3 as her Passive A, bringing her Atk on initiation to 52.

Icon Skill Weapon.png Brave Lance+Icon Skill Weapon.png Brave Lance+ (8 Mt, 300 SP)

Effect: Spd-5. Attack twice when initiating combat.
already allows Hinoka to ORKO most Fury-equipped units, even against squishier units who have weapon triangle advantage on Hinoka (eg. Nino). The exception to this are tankier heroes, including a couple tanky Blue Lance users such as Lukas, Ephraim, Xander (Spring Festival), Gwendolyn, Sharena, and a few others. For her B-slot, Hit and Run.png Hit and Run is the recommended passive as it allows her to retreat backwards, allowing an ally to more easily Reposition her out of danger after combat. Lancebreaker 3.png Lancebreaker 3 is also a potential option that allows her to take out tankier blues.

Icon Skill Assist.png RepositionIcon Skill Assist.png Reposition (150 SP)

Effect: Moves adjacent ally to opposite side of unit.
is a great Assist choice for fliers as it allows Hinoka to help units pass terrain that typically prevent movement.

Icon Skill Special.png LunaIcon Skill Special.png Luna (3 CD, 200 SP)

Effect: Resolve combat as if foe suffered Def/Res-50%.
is preferred over Icon Skill Special.png MoonbowIcon Skill Special.png Moonbow (2 CD, 200 SP)

Effect: Resolve combat as if foe suffered Def/Res-30%.
because both skills will activate at the same time with a Brave weapon (Either on the 2nd battle or when you quad).

For her C passive, you can chose any C passive you prefer to benefit your team best. In a team with other fliers, her default Hone Fliers.png Hone Fliers works great. Goad Fliers.png Goad Fliers is another option that grants +4 Atk and Spd instead, but it works within two spaces instead.

This build aims to use the Icon Skill Weapon.png Firesweep Lance+Icon Skill Weapon.png Firesweep Lance+ (15 Mt, 300 SP)

Effect: Unit and enemies cannot use counterattacks.
to assail opponents without fearing any counterattack. As such, it is the weapon of choice in this build. Should the player not have the feathers to upgrade Roderick or was unable to get him right at 5*, then the regular variant can work, although it will be weaker.

Her Assist is Icon Skill Assist.png RepositionIcon Skill Assist.png Reposition (150 SP)

Effect: Moves adjacent ally to opposite side of unit.
or Icon Skill Assist.png Draw BackIcon Skill Assist.png Draw Back (150 SP)

Effect: Unit moves 1 space away from target ally, who moves to unit's former position.
. With Hinoka's freedom of movement, Reposition can be used to ferry units across unwieldy terrain. It also has both offensive and defensive applications, being able to bring an ally closer to a foe or away from danger. Draw Back can be used for a more defensive approach, as it allows Hinoka and her ally to retreat instead. Use whichever is preferred.

Her Special is Icon Skill Special.png LunaIcon Skill Special.png Luna (3 CD, 200 SP)

Effect: Resolve combat as if foe suffered Def/Res-50%.
or Icon Skill Special.png Draconic AuraIcon Skill Special.png Draconic Aura (3 CD, 200 SP)

Effect: Grants +30% to Atk.
. Both Specials have a charge of 3. With the way Hinoka attacks, she'll be able to dispatch a unit within two strikes. Then her next target will take one strike, followed by another with her Special charged, making these 3 charge Specials ideal. Both Luna and Draconic Aura have their uses, with Luna having a defense piercing effect and Draconic Aura adding more consistent damage based on Hinoka's Atk. Use whichever is preferred.

Her A skill is Life and Death 3.png Life and Death 3. It grants +5 Atk and Spd, but -5 Def and Res. Given that she would not be able to counterattack anyway, the defense drop from this skill would not matter too much. Alternatively, she could use Swift Sparrow 2.png Swift Sparrow 2, which would not compromise her defenses, but it is a more expensive option and only grants +4 Atk and Spd instead. Her B skill is either Hit and Run.png Hit and Run or Drag Back.png Drag Back. This allows Hinoka to attack and then retreat a space back after attacking. Both Hit and Run and Drag Back allow Hinoka to retreat, but Drag Back will bring the enemy back with Hinoka, allowing another ally to finish them off. They will not be dragged back if they cannot move into the space however. Either skill will work fine. Her C skill is a flier buff of some sort, given that she would best shine on a flier team. She comes with Hone Fliers.png Hone Fliers naturally, and allows her to grant a potent offensive buff to her allies, namely +6 Atk and Spd to any adjacent ally. Goad Fliers.png Goad Fliers is another option that grants +4 Atk and Spd instead, but it works within two spaces instead. Her Seal is Speed Plus 1.png Speed +1, as it helps increase her Spd further.

Hinoka can work well on most teams. For instance, she could be paired with a refresher to give her more opportunities to hit and run. However, to make the most of Hinoka, she is best used on flier teams, as they can grant her the buffs she needs to effectively fight her foes, and she herself can also give them the buffs they need, especially with her natural Hone Fliers skill.
