Now that Weapon Refinery is available—and Beruka’s native Killer weapon can easily be upgraded then refined for a relatively affordable 70 Summoning Stones (20 + 50)—even casual Beruka users have nearly no excuse to augment her awesome physical defense even further with a Defense-refined Icon Class Green Axe.png Slaying Axe+. Without taking into account further stat increases from the A-skill slot, Sacred Seal, AND Fortify/Ward boosts, a +0 Beruka with a Defense boon and a Defense-refined Slaying Axe+ sits at a beefy 51 HP and stellar 44 Defense. As usual, Icon Skill Special.png Ignis and Icon Skill Special.png Bonfire procs will be hellishly powerful and only become stronger with new skills, enabling Beruka to essentially ignore her otherwise-terrible Attack while tearing down nearly any unit that can’t off her in time.

Translation: when given all the trimmings, Beruka becomes inhumanly difficult to take down for physical attackers in enemy phase. Obviously, steer clear of magic and ranged units, and don’t overdo it against sword units with high Attack on initiation or defense-decreasing specials, such as Siegbert, Elincia, and Black Knight.

Now, let’s go over said trimmings. Fortress Def 3.png Fortress Def 3 is still the best A-slot passive skill for its value: it can be acquired easily than other passives from any 4-star Seth and gives Beruka a substantial and consistent 5 Def increase. Its Attack penalty does not matter in the grand scheme of things, as Beruka still sports a quite-low Attack even without it. Beruka can also go for more luxurious passives if you are willing to give them; Close Def 3.png Close Def 3 in particular provides the best Arena optimization due to its higher SP cost and +1 Def over Fortress Def 3. Additionally, Close Def also counts towards Dragonstone damage, making matches against Fae and Nowi significantly more favorable despite Beruka’s below-average Resistance. Mentions of honor include Defense Plus 3.png Defense +3 (budget) and Steady Stance 3.png Steady Stance 3 (less valuable than Close Def but can still be used if lacking that).

Quick Riposte 3.png Quick Riposte 3 (or Quick Riposte 2.png Quick Riposte 2 for those on a budget) guarantees a counterattack for Beruka when at high HP, which is significant as she will need that extra attack to successfully kill most baited units with her chosen special. The combination of Quick Riposte, a defensive A-skill, and Beruka’s special is already potent in itself and requires little tweaking. Guard 3.png Guard 3, however, is also worth consideration, as it enables Beruka to confidently go toe-to-toe with attackers without fear of their own special (especially Luna) activating and ruining an otherwise nice matchup.

Beruka’s C-skill slot is flexible and depends on team composition. For flier teams, Hone Fliers.png Hone Fliers or Goad Fliers.png Goad Fliers are very good for offensive support, especially considering Beruka will almost never initiate offensively herself. For more general teams, Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3 or any Hone/Fortify skill are also worth considering. If running Panic Ploy in the C slot is too restricting, you can use its Sacred Seal version. However, Beruka can benefit more from Iotes Shield.png Iote's Shield, because despite all her physical bulk, she is still extremely vulnerable to archers. Taking this seal allows her to negate that weakness and utilize her bulk to tank archers who might otherwise defeat her.

As far as boons are concerned, a Defense boon is obvious. Due to Beruka's incorrigibly low Speed, it can be safely lowered for the bane. Although a Resistance bane is tempting due to Beruka's also low Resistance stat, it makes compromises her actually decent matchups against Nowi and Fae.

This build is pretty self-explanatory. The boost from Hone Fliers and Fortify Fliers gives Camilla 82 attack, which is enough to OHKO virtually everything that isn't bulky and red. After 1 Ardent Sacrifice, she'll be in Vantage 3 range, and any unit that attempts to touch her will have to endure one of the strongest hits in the game first. Most notably, this build can deal with bow users on enemy phase when in Vantage range, which needless to say is a godsend for an all-flying team. Unfortunately, Firesweep Bow+ is rising in popularity, so watch out for that before you put Camilla in range of Bridelia. Moonbow is used to compensate for the increased cooldown time from Gronnblade+. Close Counter is expensive, and on its own makes this a bit of a whale build. It probably isn't worth the investment unless you already have a solid flier team to back it up.

This build's focus drives on Spring Camilla's high defense (for a flier mage), and the Gronnraven(+) and Triangle Adept Combo, making Spring Festival Camilla able to do 40% more damage against archer units. This, added on with Quick Riposte 2 (or 3), creates a strong enemy phase to smack archer units. Either Moonbow or Bonfire is recommended, the former for its low cooldown and the latter for a slightly greater consistent boost in damage when it activates. Those two specials take advantage of Spring Camilla's high defense. The Distant Defense 3 sacred seal would add to Spring Camilla's damage on enemy phase if her special activates. Iote's shield, despite not adding any multiplier to damage (like Distant Defense if it activates special), is also a good choice of sacred seal.

Florina is blessed with two super-boons (one in speed and one in defense). While her speed is lackluster, even with the super-boon; her defense makes her an amazing mixed tank – especially for a flier.

Given her weapon procs only on enemy phase melee engagements, it is important for Florina to be bulky. That is why Defense Boon IV works best. Forgoing the Attack Boon sacrifices 4-6 damage per hit against armored foes but makes Florina able to endure 4 extra damage per hit. This sturdiness may be necessary to take hits from high damaging foes and activate her weapons boosted stats.

Equipping Florina with Quick Riposte 3 is necessary for her to double foes in general she doesn’t have effectiveness or weapon advantage against. Given her low speed and attack, Quick Riposte as an absolute must to patch up her weak offense to make her more well-rounded. Once again given Florina gets boosted stats on enemy phase, Quick Riposte is a pretty good choice; since you will be baiting enemy foes to attack her for the most part anyway.

Attack Ploy bulks her up even further against armored folks who typically have low magic resistance, thereby suffering 5 reduced attack when facing Florina. You may opt for Defense Ploy instead if you wish to make Florina more of an offensive type. Both are plausible.

Finally, Distance Counter is an absolute must to make Florina able to make good use of her high resistance and counter those pesky foes. Given her mixed bulk, Iote’s Shield makes her also make short work of archers.

In regards to stats, Gerome is very similar to his mother. Although he doesn't have merge potential like Cherche, he is still a solid character to utilize. Gerome comes with a new axe in the form of Poleaxe, which grants effective damage against cavalry units. With 14 mt, Poleaxe+ is a viable weapon of choice for him. While he will not be able to double due to his poor speed, he will hit harder to accommodate for his lack of doubles. This could be alleviated by equipping a Brave Axe+ on Gerome. With his high 38 attack, he will dish out a lot of damage, especially with a damaging special. Gerome comes with Rally Atk/Def which can be very useful to raise an ally's stats. Reposition is another viable choice to give Gerome if you prefer getting allies out of range. Because Gerome has a natural defense value of 34, Bonfire is one of Gerome's best specials as it provides him an extra 17 points of damage when activated. Luna is another optimal special as Luna considers the enemy's defense values to be reduced by half during calculation. For his A skill, he comes with Fortress Def 3 by default, providing more physical bulk for him. If you are looking for something more offensive, Death Blow 3 enables Gerome to reach his highest attack value. For the B slot, Gerome also comes with Hit and Run, a very versatile skill for mounted units. Drag Back is another optional choice if your playstyle prefers bringing in enemy units closer for your other allies to take out. Other B skills such as Axebreaker, Wings of Mercy, and Threaten Def 3 is one of Gerome's best choices for his C skill. With Threaten Def 3, Gerome is able to hit even harder during the enemy's next actions. Goad Fliers is another contender for the C slot as it synergizes with Rally Atk/Def and provides more stats to allies during combat. For the sacred seal, it is rather flexible however there are some that are worth utilizing with Gerome. Equipping Iote's Shield removes Gerome's weakness against bows, making him bulkier in the process. Threaten Atk and Threaten Spd synergize with a Threaten Def on the C slot. Close Defense is another solid choice on Gerome to provide him with more defense during combat from enemy melee units.

If you need a physical tank for you flier team, Michalis is now a good choice. This set uses Hauteclere's new skill to deal more damage with a 1-CD Noontime and heal himself on enemy's phase. Quick Riposte 3 makes sure he will double attack the enemy while defending, and this means that if he gets doubled (which is really often) then he will trigger his special twice, healing a lot of damage and hopefully bring him back to Quick Riposte 3's range. His A should be Distant Counter to kill Archers on enemy phase, which is able to tank due to Iote's Shield seal. Along with Defense boosts from Fortify Fliers, dealing with archers should be easy in flier teams with him. If you don't have a Distant Counter to give him (which is understandable), then Iote's Shield is not a bad choice in conjunction with Distant Defense 3 Seal (this adds defense while attacked, which kinda tries to make up for the missing counterattack and heal). So: Distant Counter A+Iote's Shield seal or Iote'Shield A + Distant Defense 3. There's no substitute for Quick Riposte in this build so far. His C should support the remaining units of the flier team: Hone Fliers is the preferred choice but the budget Goad Fliers is good too. His Assist is what you prefer between Reposition and Swap. Both are viable but keep in mind that Swap can be more useful if he has Hone Fliers, so you can position him to give buffs at the start of your next turn.

Folt99 (talk) 14:47, 2 April 2019 (UTC) This is an endgame build which plays to Michalis's strengths and niché, being a physically bulky unit with high damage potential through Hauteclere's refine + Bonfire, while also allowing for proper support of any teammate through the opening of his C and Seal Slots, the build can be used in any mode where you want a physically bulky unit, whether it's in the Arena, in Assault modes, Chain Challenges, or Aether Raids. It can be used with any team due to the only required skills being Michalis's weapon, special, A, and B-slot skills, leaving the other slots open to what you need for your particular team, though it works best with other fliers.

The introduction of Surtr into the normal pool has given Michalis, among other bulky units, access to the Steady Stance 4 skill. This skill combines combines an extra 8 Defense with a Guard effect whenever Michalis gets initiated on by an enemy, and with Hautecleré's unique refine + Quick Riposte, speedy physical opponents that doesn't kill him in one turn (which is more than likely due to the aforementioned Steady Stance 4) will suffer a Steady Stance+Hauteclere boosted Bonfire, adding an uncomfortable (for the enemy) 31 points of damage to that attack, to the point that even swords must be mindful of it. It is also something that can put a dent, even in armors, making physical-attack based armors wary as well since the Guard Effect also stops the Special Counter completely when they initiate, unless they have Bold/Special Fighter, in which case it ticks down at a much slower pace (1 per attack that qualifies).

What's more, this combination frees up his C and Seal slots, allowing him to offer support to his teammates or further refining his niché as a defensive powerhouse. In flier teams, he can take a flier-boosting skill to aid his teammates into taking down opponents that he can't, or he could otherwise take a Smoke skill to further debuff nearby opponents. Atk Smoke works well for this purpose, lessening the damage other nearby allies will do to Michalis or his teammates. Iote's Shield in the Seal Slot will further strengthen his physical bulk against Archers, including speedy glass cannons, who often doesn't have the power to 2HKO him without their flier effectiveness while he hits them back on the next turn with a Hauteclere-boosted Bonfire. Blue Archers especially must be on guard with Michalis around because he has WTA against them.

Additionally, if you're making Michalis into a 5* merge project due to his newfound status as a grail unit, he can potentially hit an effective total physical bulk of 91 points, 99 points when initiated on, backed up by an attack of 55 points (+24/34 more when initiating/initiated on with Bonfire primed and ready) without any boost other than his skills, and can further increase each by 2 and 1 respectively by using no less than 3 dragonflowers. This solidifies his status as a physical tank with the ability to seriously wound enemies that can't kill him, with the skill slots to properly support his teammates in turn.

As the name suggests this build is meant to capitalize on the fact that Morgans weapon comes with Distant Def 3. For her weapon refine we want +Def to help with Bows and Daggers since her Def is much lower than her Res ( going +Res isn't a bad option either if your gonna go for more damage with Iceberg). Assist is Flexible to suit your taste/team comp although Reposition is always a nice choice. For her special there are 2 options, Glimmer and Iceberg. Iceberg is nice cause she comes with it and after both Distant Def's proc you gain an additional 22 dmg (assuming neutral iv's, no flier buffs, and no Res weapon refine). Glimmer is Also a great option here as it has a faster charge rate compared to Iceberg also with her base Atk stat of 46 (neutral iv's) that adds 23 dmg which isn't much different from what you get with Iceberg. For her A skill we go with Distant Def 3 to stack with her weapon which comes to a total of +12 Def/Res when attacked. Her B skill can be left with the base Guard. But if you prefer not using Guard, Quick Riposte 3 is nice to help her double or the new Dull Ranged 3 form M Morgan would not be bad choices either. C skill like in most builds is left as Flexible to suit you team comp. But if you are gonna use this in a Flier Emblem Team, Goad Fliers is the best option so that Morgan Can still receive Hone/Fortify/Ward buff's from her teammates as these buff benefit her more. As for the Seal we use Iote's Shield to neutralize the "effective against flier" stat that all bows come with as well as certain tomes like Merric's Excalibur which also has it. For her IV's neutral would probable be the best as you not really losing much but with other Iv's you will be losing out on either her tanking stats(ie. Def/Res/Hp) or her dmg stats( -Spd would prob be the best option for a negative IV as her base 30 isn't really enough to double or prevent doubling). A + Res/-Spd is better if your gonna go with Iceberg to help increase her damage as for Glimmer +Atk/-Spd is also the better option for increasing her dmg. +Def IV's are also not terrible as it allows better tanking of bows/daggers.

With the default build, only the resistance part of the built-in Distant Def 3 of Morgan(F)'s personal weapon, Blárserpent+, is useful. This build serves to maximize the potential of Blárserpent+ by making the defense portion useful as well.

Iote's and Distant Def 3 are musts for this build, but it does not matter whether one goes in the A slot or in the seal slot. It is good to note, however, that the Michalis Grand Hero Battle has Iote's Shield A readily available. For the B slot, Quick Riposte 3 and a 2-charge special must be selected. This way, Morgan(F) can kill or severely injure any ranged unit that attacks her.

On enemy phase, with Fortify Fliers 3 combined with a Def-refined Blárserpent+ and Distant Def 3, Morgan(F) effectively has at least 37 Def and 51 Res. Blue magic, red magic, and staffs will be rendered incapable of damaging Morgan. Although bows, daggers, and green magic will deal minimal damage, it is safe to say that this build is anti-range.
