This build is for players looking to use Innes right away without having to seek out more elusive skills.

Weapon: '"`UNIQ--item-242--QINU`"' is Innes's weapon of choice. It grants him +2 to all stats during combat for every ally next to him. As long as he keeps an ally close to him, he'll be able to perform pretty well in combat. When given its special skill, he can avoid counterattacks from mages and dragons, allowing him to attack safely into such units.

Assist: '"`UNIQ--item-245--QINU`"' is a good Assist in general to use for ranged units. Its uses are more defensive, allowing the user and an ally to move back one space. Ranged units usually don't want to be in the line of fire too much, so Draw Back can help them retreat.

Special: '"`UNIQ--item-248--QINU`"' is Innes's Special. He comes with it naturally, and works well off of his high Res stat, which can add a decent amount of power to his attack.

A Passive: '"`UNIQ--item-251--QINU`"' is Innes's A skill. It grants him an overall stat boost at the cost of injuring him after each round of combat. The extra Atk and Spd can help give him the upper hand against his foes, while the extra Res can help him fight enemy mages and help activate his Ploys better.

B Passive: '"`UNIQ--item-254--QINU`"' is an option for Innes's B skill. He comes with it naturally, and it lets him annihilate '"`UNIQ--item-257--QINU`"' -Raven tome wielders that would normally give him trouble. However, this skill slot is flexible, open to be whatever else the player needs instead.

C Passive: '"`UNIQ--item-260--QINU`"' is an option for Innes's C skill. His high Res ensures that he'll activate it against many opponents, and it'll help him puncture through his foes. His allies can also take advantage of these debuffed enemies as well. However, this skill slot is flexible, open to be whatever else the player needs instead, like a buffing skill of some kind.

Sacred Seal: '"`UNIQ--item-263--QINU`"' is an option for Innes's Seal. His high Res ensures that he'll activate it against many opponents, and it'll help soften the blow from oncoming threats. His allies can also take advantage of these debuffed enemies as well. However, his Seal is flexible, open to be whatever else the player needs instead, like '"`UNIQ--item-266--QINU`"' to help Innes fight enemy mages.

The aim of this build is to bait out and destroy enemy mages, using Innes's Nidhogg and the right skills to augment his stats on the enemy phase.

Weapon: '"`UNIQ--item-186--QINU`"' is Innes's weapon of choice. It grants him +2 to all stats for every ally next to him. It allow for some lenient positioning, as Innes just has to get in the line of sight of an enemy mage and just have someone stand next to him to grant him extra stats, not just with the Nidhogg, but with '"`UNIQ--item-189--QINU`"' as well. A refine can give him even more stats, though it should be noted that refining his bow for its special skill will not prove too useful as this build is more enemy phase focused.

Assist: '"`UNIQ--item-192--QINU`"' is a good Assist in general to use for ranged units. Its uses are more defensive, allowing the user and an ally to move back one space. Ranged units usually don't want to be in the line of fire too much, so Draw Back can help them retreat.

Special: '"`UNIQ--item-195--QINU`"' is Innes's Special. He comes with it naturally, and works well off of his high Res stat, which can add a decent amount of power to his attack.

A Passive: '"`UNIQ--item-198--QINU`"' is Innes's A skill. It grants him +5 Atk and Res if he's next to an ally, which will stack with his Nidhogg's effect as well. With just one ally next to him, Innes will have +7 Atk, +7 Res, and +2 Def and Spd during combat. This isn't even factoring in the possibility of Supports or other stat buffs like Spurs. The aim is to stack as much of his highest stats to help him destroy enemy mages.

B Passive: '"`UNIQ--item-201--QINU`"' is an option for Innes's B skill. As this is an enemy phase build, this skill will help Innes guarantee a follow up when he's attacked. However, this skill slot is flexible, should the player feel like other B skills can be more useful instead.

C Passive: '"`UNIQ--item-204--QINU`"' is Innes's C skill. As the goal of this build is to help tank enemy mages, if they have less Res than him, then he'll be able to soften the blow even further from them by debuffing them from afar before baiting them out.

Sacred Seal: '"`UNIQ--item-207--QINU`"' is Innes's Seal. This grants him +6 Def and Res when attacked at a distance, which, when paired with the '"`UNIQ--item-210--QINU`"' and '"`UNIQ--item-213--QINU`"', helps make him even sturdier against enemy mages. The extra Def can help soften the blow from enemy archers as well, although Innes's Def is still very poor, so he must take caution around them.

You’re thinking “A unit with only 14 defence can’t be a close counter tank!” aren’t you? Well, you might be right, but this set tries to prove it wrong.

For the weapon, Nidhogg is essentially a colourless owltome. When next to 3 allies, he gets a buff of +6 to every stat bar HP. Along with ally support, this makes a +8 buff, only from the weapon. Since this applies to every stat, he becomes bulkier and hits harder and faster.

Assist skill is entirely up to the user. Ardent Sacrifice works very well with Vantage, as it allows Innes to lower himself into it’s range. However, with +HP IV, Innes will hit 44 HP with summoner support, so keep that in mind.

Special is also reliant on user prefence and unit Ivs. However, Moonbow remains the most consistent special against high defence units.

Close Counter is the premise of the build, and it works to allow Innes to retaliate against threats. This allows the build to focus more on enemy-phase. Along with his high Resistance, this skill also allows him to combat Dragons to some degree.

Vantage is a great skill to allow Innes to get attacks off when low on HP. This gives him the ability to kill enemies before they get a chance to hurt him. However, if aiming for full on tanking, Dull Close is great at working against buffed unit in cavalry/flier teams.

For C skills, the options are open very wide. Threaten Attack works well to reduce the overall damage that can be dealt to Innes, which is an indirect buff to his defence. Savage Blow also synergizes well with Close Counter and Vantage, which is another point to keep in mind.

For Sacred Seal, the most obvious choice is Close Defence. +6 to each defensive stat upon being attacked goes a long way in helping Innes to tank damage from hard-hitting fighters. If you expect to be fighting higher speed units, however, a Deflect Melee seal can also be used to some effect.

When following the main premise of this build, upon being attacked, Innes will gain: 6 to all stats from Nidhogg 2 to all stats from ally support 2 to all stats from summoner support 6 defence from Close Def seal Assuming all stats are neutral, this bumps Innes from 14 defence to 30 defence. Paired with his HP with Summoner Support, this gives him 70 physical bulk, which along with his speed, allows him to survive many engagements without even accounting for ally buffs.

This build isn’t designed to be running the meta in tier 20 arena, nor was it built by someone who is an expert at unit building. It was built by a fan of Innes who wanted to give him a build I thought would be fun and unique.
