Description | Grants Atk+3. At start of combat, if both unit's and foe's HP = 100% or if both unit's and foe's HP < 100%, unit makes a guaranteed follow-up attack. |
Notes[ | ]
- As a general rule, if a unit is both prevented from making, and guaranteed to make a follow-up attack, the effects cancel out, and the Spd difference decides instead (including effects that alter this difference).
- A foe with effects such as Phys. Null Follow or Null Follow-Up will neutralize the guaranteed follow-up attack granted by Noble Lance.
- The "if foe's HP < 100%" condition is a mistranslation of "if foe's HP ≤ 99%"; if the foe's HP is strictly between 99% and 100%, this condition would fail. However, this is only possible when the unit is in combat against Røkkr enemies, as normal enemy units have a maximum of 99 HP.
Upgrades[ | ]
Can be upgraded in the Weapon Refinery. For a list of other such weapons, see list of upgradable weapons.
Notes[ | ]
- The stat increase that can be applied by refined Noble Lance is considered a temporary buff.
- "If unit initiates combat" means if the user starts combat during the player phase. The unit does not need to deal damage, nor be the first to attack.
- However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
- The damage boosting effect of Noble Lance ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage reduction effects such as Armored Beacon, Dragon Wall 3, and Dodge.
- A foe equipped with Embla's Ward, Múspellflame, Niðavellir Axiom, or Gold Perfection will neutralize all sources of damage during combat except the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- The damage-reduction is calculated after offensive Specials and damage boosting effects such as Arcane Lúin and Dominance.
- If a skill such as Miracle or Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
- Percentage-based damage-reduction effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if both Buffer 4 and Godlike Reflexes activate, the maximum total damage-reduction is 70% instead of 90%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − 50%) × (1 − 40%) = 30% of the original damage.
- For more information, see Damage calculation.
- Noble Lance's damage-reduction effect is considered a Special effect, so effects that neutralize or reduce the percentage of non-Special "reduces damage by X%" effects such as Special Spiral 4 or Halves non-Special damage reduction do not apply to Noble Lance's damage-reduction effect.
- The damage-reduction reducing effect of Noble Lance will apply to damage-reducing Specials such as Vital Astra.
- damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
- For example, if a unit has Atk/Res Tempo 4 and Halves non-Special damage reduction and foe has Dodge, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 10%, since the two skills reduce the damage-reduction by (1 − ((40% × 50%) × 50%)) = 90% of the original damage.
- Each damage-reduction effect is reduced by individually.
- For example, if a unit has Spd/Def Tempo 4 and the foe has both Spurn 4 and Dodge active, the maximum total damage-reduction is reduced to 40%, since the two skills reduce the damage to (1 − (50% × 50%)) × (1 − (40% × 50%)) = 60% of the original damage.
- damage-reduction reducing effects stack multiplicatively, unlike interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
