Reward units (also called free units, free Heroes, or F2P units) is a term used to designate units that are obtained outside of summoning and purchasing. The term is used more as to describe the guaranteed aspect of a unit, rather than the cost of the unit. A zero cost unit is not necessarily a free unit, for example, a zero cost unit can be obtained from a free summon, but these are not considered free units. Reward units have no stat variation.
Units in this table are marked with the lowest possible rarity a free version can currently be obtained at. The last date available column describes the last date this unit was available for free. Dates are in ISO 8601 format (YYYY-MM-DD) for easy sorting.
Although reward units and units summoned both have no net variation on stats, reward units are distinguished from those units in the game's data. In technical terms, all summoned units have a byte in RAM in their block of data that determines their stat variation, with neutral units having a certain value, but reward units lack this byte entirely. In network traffic data, reward units have an "individual" value of 0.
Reward units can be handed out at lower rarities than they can be summoned, being the only source of a lower rarity version. For example, Catria who was at the time normally summoned only at 4 or 5 was handed out at 3 from the Pegasus Sisters quests.
