This build aims to maximize Catria's melee tanking and counterattacking abilities. Without receiving any flier buffs, she reaches 43–44 Def. Add the effects of Fortify and Ward Fliers from a Flier Emblem squad, and she reaches 53–54. Her Spd remains at 34, which is nothing special in Player Phase, but is enough to avoid enemy follow-ups most of the time, particularly if another of Catria's teammates has Goad Fliers. Quick Riposte, Bonfire, and the Slaying Lance then turn all that Defense into offense for a mighty counterattack that few enemies will survive. Catria has greater potential in this role than other lance fliers due to a much better Atk stat than Subaki's, better Spd than Valter's (not to mention that the drawback of the Cursed Lance hurts his tanking ability), and having higher Def than most other fliers. Sumia is her main competition for this role, and admittedly her starting kit of Close Def and Reprisal Lance effectively does the same thing. However, with that kit, Sumia must either sacrifice the massive damage of her Enemy Phase Bonfire, going with Moonbow or Glimmer for her guaranteed special proc, or keep Bonfire but not be able to proc it on every Quick Riposte. Catria's more common availability also makes it easier to cherry-pick the perfect IV and find merges. So if you're having trouble getting Sumia or if you just like Catria more, this is a very effective build that arguably works better than Sumia's base kit. 69.14.30.184 00:03, 2 August 2018 (UTC)

Now, looking at this build, you might be tempted to write of Cynthia as a generic Icon Skill Special.png Galeforce sweeper. And you'd be right, she is. But really, if you're here it's probably more-so for Cynthia's Kamen Rider inspired personality rather than building an amazing, meta shattering build, and nothing quite says doling out justice like abusing Icon Class Blue Lance.png Slaying Lance+'s cooldown reduction combined with a Heavy Blade 3.png Heavy Blade 3 seal to wreck havoc on multiple baddies in a single turn by setting up a one turn Icon Skill Special.png Galeforce on any malcontents who are doubled and weaker than our heroine (just make sure the sneak isn't carrying any CD disrupting skills such as Steady Stance 4.png Steady Stance 4). A Spd or Atk refine will work, depending on preference and specific needs. Smacking villains around with a bundle of flowers by running Icon Class Blue Lance.png Lofty Blossoms+ is also a viable option if one is comfortable with taking damage in exchange for a boost to Atk and Spd, though it lacks the long term consistency of Icon Class Blue Lance.png Slaying Lance+ and lacks synergy with Desperation 3.png Desperation 3, and as such is not recommended for lengthy maps or for summoners with allergies.

The choice in A skill comes down to preference, Atk Spd Solo 3.png Atk/Spd Solo 3 gives consistency over drawn out skirmishes against the forces of evil while Atk Spd Push 4.png Atk/Spd Push 4 gives one flexibility in positioning and a slight stat increase. Really though, one can just throw any A skill here, so long as it boosts Cynthia's so-so Atk and Spd up to the point where she can consistently double and trigger Heavy Blade 3.png Heavy Blade 3. The preferred B passive is Desperation 3.png Desperation 3, in part because it allows Cynthia to deal damage without fear of being taken out in retaliation by the heavy hitting ne'er-do-wells she might have to administer a heaping serving of righteous fury to, in part because she's a flying hero and as such has practically no other viable options for this slot. You'll want to use your C skill to boost Cynthia's admittedly modest Atk further, and while many skills work in this regard, Even Atk Wave 3.png Even Atk Wave 3 is a perfectly fine f2p option. If one is will to spend a few orbs, skills such as Threat. Atk Spd 3.png Threat. Atk/Spd 3 and Atk Def Oath 3.png Atk/Def Oath 3 are also great choices. And, of course, as a flyer Cynthia is perfectly capable of supporting her fellow vanguards of valor with movement skills such as Air Orders 3.png Air Orders 3, Guidance 3.png Guidance 3, and Ground Orders 3.png Ground Orders 3, though do beware that these do not assist in the primary function of this build (to violently stomp out ill-doings and allow justice to prevail).

What was once a joke has turned into the enemy's worst nightmare. Megalodon Pup was born of repeated Donnel summons, and reaches its full potential at +10. However, this build works with any merge level. Slaying Lance+ and QP/Wrath work in tandem, allowing him to go ham as soon as possible. -HP/Res puts him at a disadvantage, but is the least offensive bane in his kit. No unit of Intsys born can defeat him now--Surtr wishes he were Megalodon Pup.

Weapon: Slaying Lance+ is already a good choice for many units, and honing it for Atk only improves its utility. With this lance in his gilded, divine hands, Pup can easily one-round KO many red units. When wielding the spear, his Luna cooldown is set to 2--if he it hits 0, it's over for the next unit that dares come near him.

Assist: Reciprocal Aid can be used in a pinch to knock Donnel's HP into the Wrath 3 threshold, and Swap allows him to pluck an ally out of a tight spot.

Special: Luna is the bread and butter of Megalodon Pup. Its cooldown of 3 becomes 2 with the Slaying Lance+, 1 with QP or Wrath. Upon activation, Pup turns into a steamroller, clearing a path through any unit that dares enter his line of sight.

A Passive: When I woke up one morning, my Hector was gone and suddenly Donnel had Distant Counter. DC allows Donnel to tank incoming fire and retaliate in full force, even using his special if it is ready. No one is safe.

B Passive: Wrath is a fitting name. Megalodon Pup is in his element as soon as he crosses Wrath 3's threshold, allowing him to rapid-fire specials faster than Octomom pops out babies. The skill's +10 to special damage turns Luna into a gamebreaker, allowing Pup to kill even the buffest green units.

C Passive: Def Smoke changes Pup from a local threat into a regional one. Imagine being the enemy: A small man in a pot hat kills your friend, and suddenly your Def is reduced by 7--and you're next on his chopping block. The debuff not only allows Pup to swoop in and pick off other units, but nearby allies can also take advantage of it.

Like most armored units, due to her lack of movement, Effie is often picked off or damaged for free fairly easily by ranged enemies while trying to approach her target. On top of that, with a Dancer or positioning skills on the other team, these ranged units can essentially move out of Effie's range and kite her until she dies. Thus, this build takes and revolves around Distant Counter.png Distant Counter to deal with ranged units. Although not an extreme player phase powerhouse like Brave Effie, this build is still extremely potent due to her already high base Atk. For many ranged units who cannot one-shot Effie or lack the Defense to take a hit, this build shuts these units down. Thanks to Effie's already-high base Atk, tankiness and Wary Fighter, this build still poses a threat to melee units as well, making her a more rounded unit.

For her IVs, to start -Spd is her bane of choice. Not only is this because her Spd is already abysmally low, but because with Wary Fighter, she doesn't need to worry about her Spd being even lower. +Atk is taken as her boon to increase the damage Effie can dish out. Other boons are acceptable to increase her tankiness.

Icon Class Blue Lance.png Deft Harpoon+ is taken as her weapon of choice. Deft Harpoon+ provides an overall stat boost for Effie's first engagement. However, this weapon is not only an expensive investment but was an exclusive weapon limited to the Ylissean Summer (Focus) and no longer available. Icon Class Blue Lance.png Slaying Lance+ is also a strong alternative that also has high Mt and decreases her special cooldown by 1. This means she run Icon Skill Special.png Bonfire at the same charge cooldown as a regular Moonbow with much greater damage thanks to Effie's high Def. Alternatively, Effie's default weapon Icon Class Blue Lance.png Silver Lance+ can be used instead if neither option is available.

Defensively, the build keeps Effie's default B-slot passive Wary Fighter 3.png Wary Fighter 3 to prevent other units from doubling Effie. This is what allows Effie to successfully survive most encounters despite her low Spd. Without it, she will lose several match ups against speedier units such as mages.

Icon Skill Assist.png Pivot is chosen as her Assist of choice due to armored units appreciating the extra movement. Icon Skill Assist.png Swap can also be taken as well. Swap is typically seen on tankier units. For example, one common scenario is using Swap on an ally who is in range of the enemy. Unlike other skills like Reposition which will keep both heroes out of range, Swap will leave one unit in range. Effie is fantastic at taking hits, thus Swap is a potential Assist skill that can be taken as well.

For her special, Icon Skill Special.png Moonbow is selected due to its quick charge time and extra damage, but as mentioned before, she can opt for 3-charge specials if running Slaying Lance+ such as Icon Skill Special.png Bonfire or Icon Skill Special.png Draconic Aura.

For her C passive, Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3 works well on Effie due to her high HP, and allows her to reverse the buffs prevalent on common themed teams (Cavalry, Flying Unit, Armored). This also includes teams that revolve around a -blade tome mage and buffs. Since a green mage with Gronnblade+ (eg. Nino Pious Mage Face FC.webp Nino: Pious Mage) has the potential to one-shot Effie, using Panic Ploy to reverse these buffs means Effie has the chance to not only survive a -blade attack, but also potentially kill the mage on the counter.

Otherwise, her C-slot is left open for whatever else a team may need such as Hone Buffs, Threaten / Other Ploy Debuffs, etc.

Her Seal is Distant Def 3.png Distant Def 3, which helps mitigate the damage she takes from a range. Alternatively, she could use Panic Ploy 3.png Panic Ploy 3, which would free up her C skill slot for another armor buff.

This build is designed to chase a high Arena score, while also being very synergistic as an Enemy Phase unit. +Res is chosen as Effie has a superboon, and -Spd is chosen as it will be mitigated by her B skill. While many builds tent towards an Atk boon, this build is attacking twice, once with Icon Skill Special.png Aether, and putting those points towards Res gives her the ability to tank more.

Icon Class Blue Lance.png Slaying Lance+ drops Aether's cooldown to 4, letting you activate it when attacked thanks to Vengeful Fighter 3.png Vengeful Fighter 3. This allows you to heal back a bit of HP, keeping you above the 50% HP threshold for Vengeful Fighter to activate. Distant Counter.png Distant Counter is chosen so that Effie can respond to all units other than Firesweep, Sacae, Dazzling Staff, and Windsweep units, and it also boosts Arena score.

Ideally, she will be on a team with multiple users of Ward Armor.png Ward Armor, further boosting her Def and Res. This also ties into her Assist skill, which is useful for both increasing Arena score and increasing the tanking capability of the team's other units.

Close Def 3.png Close Def 3 is a great seal, especially as with a high enough merge level most Arena enemies tend to be Dragons or Armors. If you're still facing mages, then Distant Def 3.png Distant Def 3 patches up her Res a little more.

This build gears Florina to be an enemy phase fighter. By choosing to drop her Spd, she's allowing her enemies to double her, tanking both hits, and unleashing a vicious Special on her assailant at the end of the exchange.

Weapon: Defense Plus W.png Slaying Lance+ is Florina's weapon of choice. It is necessary to reduce the charge of Glacies down to 3 so she can activate it more easily.

Assist: Icon Skill Assist.png Reposition is a good Assist in general to use. Its uses are versatile, as it can either help bring an ally closer to the fray, or bring an ally out of danger. Fliers can put it to good use with their freedom of movement.

Special: Glacies is Florina's Special, chosen as it adds damage based off of a majority of the unit's Res. As Florina has plenty of Res to use, this Special is certain to cause a lot of damage.

A Passive: Distant Counter is Florina's A skill, chosen so that she's not helpless against most ranged attackers, like mages. She will still have to be wary about archers, however.

B Passive: Guard 3.png Guard 3 is is Florina's B skill if she's using Quick Riposte 3 as her Seal. With Guard, she can deter enemies who rely on their Specials to break through their opponents. However, if enemy Special mitigation is not an issue, then she could run Quick Riposte 3 as her B skill instead, which will allow her to perform a follow up attack when she's attacked. Provided that the enemy doesn't have any method of Special mitigation against Florina themselves, and if they double Florina, then her second strike will activate her Glacies.

C Passive: Def Ploy 3.png Def Ploy 3 is an option for Florina's C skill, as she has a great amount of Res for effective Ploy use. This skill will help her deal even more damage, which can help secure the victory against tougher opponents. Alternatively, Atk Ploy 3.png Atk Ploy 3 can be chosen instead, and this would instead help mitigate the damage that Florina takes, allowing her to tank more hits.

Sacred Seal: Quick Riposte 3 is Florina's Seal if she's using Guard 3 as her B skill. With Quick Riposte, she'll be able to perform a follow up attack when she's attacked, which is essential to help solidify this build as a powerful enemy phase build. If she's already using Quick Riposte 3 as her B skill, then her Seal is Close Def 3.png Close Def 3, which improves her bulk against melee threats, letting her tank even more hits.
