::::::You didn't read my message, actually. Please watch the attitude. I am only counting alts. There is not a single "normal" hero (i.e. Ike: Young Mercenary, Lucina: Future Witness, Nino: Pious Mage, Palla: Eldest Whitewing, etc.) who doesn't use a weapon/movement type that's regularly available to them. It is only ever alts that give characters new weapons or movement styles. There are not 185 alts. Datnuttykid (talk) 22:25, 10 June 2018 (UTC)

:::::::What about Faye: Devoted Heart? Also, anonymous user, please sign your comments. You two should probably define what you think terms like "character", "Hero", "Normal" and "Alt" mean, since after all, for there to be an "alt" there needs to be a "main" version. This would probably clear up some confusion in the discussion and allow a smoother conversation Endilyn (talk) 06:10, 11 June 2018 (UTC)

Revision as of 15:01, 13 June 2018

"even non-seasonal, he isn't unique; Mage Eirika. Brave Lyn also shouldn't have a horse."

Doesn't Mage Eirika's Misc page mention that she can't normally use dark magic, though? And correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can tell, Brave Ike, Brave Lyn, Mage Eirika, and the upcoming Nino alt are the only non-seasonal units that have either weapon types or movement types that they don't have in their origin games.

I didn't check Mage Eirika's page so it's possible it says that, although I would advocate its removal as well.
Personally, I don't think there are enough non-seasonal alts for four characters who all share the same issue to count as unique. Even if you count legendary heroes, you have to add Ryoma (since Kinshi Knights can't wield swords), so the percentage stays basically the same. Datnuttykid (talk) 21:44, 5 June 2018 (UTC)
Issue? I just think it's something that should be mentioned. I did forget about Legendary Ryoma, so that makes 5. And I just checked, and excluding reward-only heroes and Special Heroes, including Alfonse, Sharena, Anna, and Legendary Heroes, there are 181 units in the game, which means those 5 are only like 2.7% of the non-seasonal units. You sure there aren't enough non-seasonal units?
Well, now that the new banner is here, that number has increased to 184... rather, it would have, except Kaze was added to the pool as well, so it's 185 instead. Also, shoulda mentioned this earlier, but I know about the fallen Robins, but I don't count those as units with weapon/move types they can't normally have because they're more Grima than Robin, even if Robin is their unit name.
The count of units is irrelevant; it's the number of non-special alts with weapons/movement types that they can use in their source game vs. non-special alts with weapons/movement types that they can't use. 35% of non-special alts have weapons/movement types that they can't use; I personally think that's too many to be notable. Uh, dude, that's exactly what that count is: special heroes and reward-only units aren't part of it, I even said so when I first brought it up. If we did include special/reward-only units, that number would be so much bigger. In fact, I decided to check just now, and including Special/Reward units, there's two hundred and ninety-two units in total! Maybe try not having selective reading next time?
