In regards to stats, Gerome is very similar to his mother. Although he doesn't have merge potential like Cherche, he is still a solid character to utilize. Gerome comes with a new axe in the form of Poleaxe, which grants effective damage against cavalry units. With 14 mt, Poleaxe+ is a viable weapon of choice for him. While he will not be able to double due to his poor speed, he will hit harder to accommodate for his lack of doubles. This could be alleviated by equipping a Brave Axe+ on Gerome. With his high 38 attack, he will dish out a lot of damage, especially with a damaging special. Gerome comes with Rally Atk/Def which can be very useful to raise an ally's stats. Reposition is another viable choice to give Gerome if you prefer getting allies out of range. Because Gerome has a natural defense value of 34, Bonfire is one of Gerome's best specials as it provides him an extra 17 points of damage when activated. Luna is another optimal special as Luna considers the enemy's defense values to be reduced by half during calculation. For his A skill, he comes with Fortress Def 3 by default, providing more physical bulk for him. If you are looking for something more offensive, Death Blow 3 enables Gerome to reach his highest attack value. For the B slot, Gerome also comes with Hit and Run, a very versatile skill for mounted units. Drag Back is another optional choice if your playstyle prefers bringing in enemy units closer for your other allies to take out. Other B skills such as Axebreaker, Wings of Mercy, and Threaten Def 3 is one of Gerome's best choices for his C skill. With Threaten Def 3, Gerome is able to hit even harder during the enemy's next actions. Goad Fliers is another contender for the C slot as it synergizes with Rally Atk/Def and provides more stats to allies during combat. For the sacred seal, it is rather flexible however there are some that are worth utilizing with Gerome. Equipping Iote's Shield removes Gerome's weakness against bows, making him bulkier in the process. Threaten Atk and Threaten Spd synergize with a Threaten Def on the C slot. Close Defense is another solid choice on Gerome to provide him with more defense during combat from enemy melee units.
