Description | Wikitext | This build utilizes specific skill interactions to turn Hector into a powerful enemy phase tank that can never be doubled bar Axebreaker. The Wary Fighter 3, Quick Riposte 2 effect from Armads, and the Quick Riposte 3 seal interact in such a way to allow Hector to only get attacked once and then attack back twice. This is because Wary Fighter 3 cancels follow up attacks from both units. The Quick Riposte 2 effect from Armads then breaks the symmetry, allowing Hector to follow up attack if he makes the speed threshold. Then, the Quick Riposte 3 seal changes Hector's ability to double from a speed check to a guarantee, while leaving the enemy unable to follow up attack. Because Hector is guaranteed a follow up attack +Atk -Spd becomes the best boon/bane set to maximize his attack while dumping his speed, which isn't used in this set. Any other boon also works to help Hector stay in range as well. Armads is the weapon of choice, as it provides Quick Riposte 2, which is vitally important for the build. Swap and Pivot help Hector's mobility, which is important especially if you don't have access to Armor March 3 Moonbow allows Hector to always fire off a special in combat, and the defense piercing is more useful than the increase in damage dealt by Glimmer, as squishy targets already are eliminated by getting hit twice, leaving only tanky targets as threats. Distant Counter allows Hector to counter any unit, and he even comes with it! Wary Fighter 3 is what allows Hector to not get doubled by enemies, cancelling their follow up attack. Hector's C slot is fairly flexible and is dependent on what your team needs. Ward Armor is a good budget option to help make his armored allies sturdier. Armor March 3 is very strong if he is paired with another armor unit, while Panic Ploy 3 allows Hector to leverage his large HP pool to debilitate his enemies. Quick Riposte 3 is the only seal for this build, as it turns the speed check from Armads + Wary Fighter 3 into a guaranteed follow up attack. |

Description | Wikitext | Often stacking B skills will do nothing for a character, however with Hector, giving him the QR seal ontop of his Armads allows him to abuse how B skills work ad do something no other unit can. Usually Wary Fighter would cancel any follow up skills due to its natural effect of negating followups. When you have two QR skills then Wary Fighter only cancels out one of them, meaning the second QR is unaffected, allowing you to double through it. For Hector, this means that foes can only attack him once and he himself can double for free as long as he's in the 70%-100% hp range. This significantly helps Hector in many matchups where he would die after the followup attack and allows him to kill more consistently. He effectively has a breaker skill that works on every unit in the game. The only thing that can prevent him following up is Axebreaker, which is very uncommon (Sweep skills will prevent followups too). Due to this a speed boon is less desirable. |

Description | Wikitext | For this specific build, Hector will mainly be used to bait out and kill heavy physical attackers by doubling. Weapon: Slaying Axe+ accelerates the Special, giving extra damage, and a Spd or Def refinement gives extra bang for your buck. IV's: +Spd ensures that Hector won't be doubled too much and +Def just adds to the already titanic tankiness. -HP works with a weapon refinement on top of Hector's already titanic HP and -Res works because this build is centered on physical attackers and Def. Assist: Swap and Pivot are excellent movement options for obvious reasons. Special: Ignis, accelerated by Slaying Axe+, wields an accelerated cooldown of 3. This gives the potential to have Ignis trigger whenever combat is initiated, adding huge damage with Hector's immense Def. A Skill: Distant Counter is already a good option, naturally, as this allows easier attacking of bow and dagger users. B Skill: Vengeful Fighter 3 is good for the enemy phase and allows Hector to not be confined by slow movement and ranged units. Also, the extra charge per attack is useful for packing more of a punch. C Skill: Armor March 3 can prove to be useful for retreating against the occasional tome or powerful sword user. Other C Skills such as Goad Armor still do fine. Seal: The seal is flexible as many seals can fit specific niches. Quick Riposte 3 can be used to cancel out Wary Fighter 3. Brash Assault 3, paired with Vengeful Fighter 3, can also help Hector get a kill (or just deal more damage) if the opponent isn't already killed. Other seals may also work to fit specific roles (for example, Distant Def 3 gives support for dangerous tome users and powerful bow users). |
