Versatile Micaiah
Click to show/hide build description
This build focuses around Micaiah's strengths and versatility.

Micaiah is a very strong unit but lacks a lot of def, hp, and speed. +Atk natured Micaiah is a must however, because Defense is a superbane, you want her bane to be HP. This enables her to maybe at least take a single hit. Her speed is at a neutral 28 so she won't be doubling too often but its just high enough some units might not double her. Her weapon Thani grants her +3 Res, as well as being effective against Armored and Cavalry foes. Against armored and cavalry foes using ranged weapons, Thani reduces the damage of their first hit by 30%. Her unique assist skill, Sacrifice, not only converts penalties to bonuses, but also heals her allies from her health. Glimmer on Micaiah is indefinitely better than Moonbow as it enables her Thani to become super effective against Armor and Cavalry foes, making even Green units and Berkut's Lance units tremble before her power. Her A skill of Death Blow 3 makes her already natural +Atk nature of 52 jump to 58 making one shotting more frequent. If she is your mage tank, her other A skill is Distant Defense 3 which allows her to tank ranged opponents easier. Her B skill of Dull Ranged that neutralizes ranged foe's bonuses allows her to stand against the fearsome Reinhardt as well as those other fearsome bladetome users. On a budget, her other B skill is lancebreaker due to the fact that Berkuts Lance+ is capable of granting already high Res lance users another 11 resistance. With lancebreaker Micaiah will generally kill her opponent. Her C skill of Drive Speed 2 further enables a Windsweep Light Breath+ Ally to buff her 2 spaces away granting her +5 to all of her stats until the next player phase. Res ploy can also be used if on a budget to shed some resistance off of some of her foes. Finally, her seal, Attack +3 grants her +Atk nature of 52 to jump to 55. When Death Blow 3 and Attack +3 are used together on a +Atk natured Micaiah, she is granted an innate 61 attack. If she is your mage tank, her other seal is Distant Defense 3 which allows her to tank ranged opponents easier.

Summary: Thani and Dull Ranged 3 compliment each other making her both a decent mage tank (especially against Armor and Cavalry units) as well as a fearsome aggressor. Sacrifice grants her a nice niche that you really just can't go wrong with having on your team. Micaiah lacks a lot of speed and is almost unsalvageable. I recommend boosting her attack with buffs and going for the one shots rather than trying to get her to double. If you run mixed teams, I recommend running Attack Tactic 3 on one of her friends and if you run full infantry I recommend running a Light Breath+ dragon to boost all of her stats by 5. This enables her to one shot enemies just out of one shot capabilities as well as tank a few extra hits if mage tanking with her.

This build is focused on making the most efficient use of Micaiah's potential. It is centered around her devastating Atk, her high Res, and her unique Sacrifice assist. The skills, in my opinion, complement each other and Michaiah's stats. Fury is great in further maximizing that powerful Atk stat and her high Res (the latter further allowing her to make use of something I'll get to in a moment), with its user-damaging effect partially neutralized by Renewal. Renewal pairs well with Fury for the reason already stated, and pairs well with Sacrifice in that it allows constant healing for Michaiah's teammates. Her Res Ploy skill work well with her insanely high Res (further supported by Fury) and Fury (on its own) to further weaken her opponents to potentially allow for a one-hit-KO. As for her seal, either Atk Ploy (which I prefer since it supports teammates as well) or Deflect Missile work to prevent Michaiah from getting one-hit KO'd by fast/brave bow users and fast dagger users.

This build is focused on destroying multiple horses 1 after another. The idea on how to use this build is to take advantage of Micaiah's effective against bonus against horses and completely destroying them in 1 hit. Even a -Atk Micaiah is able 1 shot Bowlyn and Reinhardt. How to play this sort of build is by baiting the opposing horse unit and retaliating with a 1 shot. You will then be in vantage range to destroy any more horses which want to take you on.

If you want to tank Bowlyns with brave bows then swap out Deflect Magic 3 for Deflect Missile 3 but this puts you in the red zone for QP +10 reinhardts. If you do get Micaiah to +10 merges then definitely swap out Deflect Magic 3 for Deflect Missile 3 as you will be able to tank a QP +10 +atk Reinhardt WITHOUT horse buff as long as you dont have a hp or res bane. As for IVs, +Hp is optimal as it will make you be able to tank a QP +10 +atk Reinhardt WITH horse buff as long as your bane is not -res.

TLDR; +Hp (if its not -res) Micaiah can tank optimal build reinhardt and bowlyn with brave bow if you have Deflect Missile 3.

Micaiah has a high attack stat at 35, going up to 38 with an atk boon. Combine this with Icon Class Blue Tome Blárblade+'s effect where it adds up all bonuses to damage dealt, and you've got a really dangerous mage who can KO a good portion of the game's roster with the right support. While the ideal teammate would be Ephraim Restoration Lord Face FC Ephraim: Restoration Lord or Eirika Restoration Lady Face FC Eirika: Restoration Lady who can potentially buff all 4 if Micaiah's stats on their own, Micaiah can be run along any teammate that can provide buffs for the Priestess of Dawn.

However, for her outstanding attack and respectable resistance, she trades speed and defense. While her low speed can be helped with a +spd boon and Fury 3 Fury 3, she will still be unable to double a lot of units. As such, this build aims to deal as much damage in one hit. Thus, the A slot of choice for this build is Death Blow 3 Death Blow 3 to augment Micaiah's killing potential even further. Alternatively, Fury 3 Fury 3 can be chosen to make Micaiah more durable while also boosting her attack - although even with Fury 3 Fury 3, her defense stat is really low and as such, tanking physical hits is discouraged.

For the B slot, Lancebreaker 3 Lancebreaker 3 is the best choice. Although a breaker is less neccesary if Micaiah is full-buffed, she struggles to cleanly oneshot red and blue units. Running a breaker can help her secure the KO on lance units, with or without buffs. Of all breakers, Lancebreaker is the best option as Lance wielders are more common than blue mages, and Micaiah can take down reds much more easily. The C slot is open to a skill that fits the player's team the most.

For the assist, Skilliconassist Draw Back can be run to get an ally out of danger whilst Micaiah stays safe behind her ally. Skilliconassist Reposition can also be used for its increased mobility compared to Draw Back, however this puts Micaiah in front of her ally. The choice is up to the player.

Skilliconspecial Moonbow is the special of choice, as it helps Micaiah deal with tankier Red units as well as some Blue units. Because Micaiah will not double a unit often, she won't charge her special as quickly as other Blade tome mages like Nino. This, combined with Icon Class Blue Tome Blárblade+'s cooldown penalty, leaves Moonbow as the special of choice.

Lastly, Attack Plus 3 Attack +3 is the seal of choice as it helps Micaiah deal more damage, however the seal slot is fairly flexible.

Silver Haired Battle Medic

With the A Skill and seal, Micaiah will have boosted defenses against all enemy types, which helps with her true role: Chaining Sacrifice and Renewal to keep the team alive. With Thani, she's able to kill horses and armors with ease (with Breath of Life contributing to her build-intended role as a medic by healing adjacent allies), which turns them into easy charge for Miracle, a nice thing to have in the event of a fatal encounter finding its way to her. As an added bonus, this build is extremely cost-efficient to create; Lucius or Maria give Miracle, Fae gives Renewal and Felicia gives Breath of Life, all at 4 stars. If one is willing to play a little riskier with Micaiah's weak physical defense, Close Def can be swapped for Heavy Blade; this makes her more likely to die on a sword, lance or especially axe, but causes her sky high attack to charge Miracle that much faster.

With plenty of Horses around to ruin a player's day, Micaiah holds one of the more unique skillsets in the game. The ability to hit Horses and Armored Units for effective damage allows her to ruin Horse Emblem teams, even on defense, when used appropriately with the right party members.

Firstly, your team. Your team members, optimally, will include a Dancer with Blaze Dance. If you're fighting in Arena, and both your and your opponents are using +10 Units, then you'll also need Drive Atk 2. The buffs you get from these members will grant you just enough stats to handle every horse Unit even when the AI controls your team. The +4 Atk from Blaze Dance is just enough attack when combined with the skills to deal with a fully buffed Gronnblade+ Cecilia at +0, and with Drive Atk 2 you'll have just enough to handle a fully buffed Gronnblade+ Cecilia at +10.

Secondly, it's important to use Fury 3 and Atk Ploy 3 as your A and C slots, and Deflect Missile 3 as your S slot. You need the Atk reduction of Atk Ploy to survive a fully buffed Cecilia or Gunnthra wielding Gronnblade+, and with 38 base RES (41 with Fury 3) you have all the RES you need to afflict enemy horses that don't have a RES boon. As for Fury 3, it lets you win the matchup against Cecilia. Distant Def 3 is a nice A skill, but it doesn't let you do enough damage to one-shot Cecilia. You need that added defense with just a bit more damage. Reinhardt is thankfully an afterthought and you one-shot him either way, and against Brave Lyn (both varieties, Brave Bow and Mulagir), Deflect Missile 3 as your Seal will let you survive and hit her hard back. Since DEF and SPD banes for Micaiah don't affect her matchups against Cavalry, it's just more important to have some SPD against non-Cavalry Units.

Finally, Vantage 3 is a user-friendly skill you can use on your own timing when controlling the team, and while generally irrelevant for Micaiah when AI-controlled (mainly because she either gets one-rounded or one-rounds the opponent), it can be used to great benefit for that last little bit of damage. Just beware of full Ward Armor teams with Vantage, all Blue and Green Units on those teams can survive one Micaiah hit.

Enemy Phase Annihilator
Click to show/hide build description
It may seem extremely counter-intuitive to give a squishy mage like Micaiah close counter, but the fun thing about Micaiah is how easy it is to get her into the threshold for vantage, with Sacrifice being a much better skill than Reciprocal Aid or Ardent Sacrifice. Meaning that with vantage and close counter, she can annihilate basically any melee enemy that attacks her, ESPECIALLY armored/cavalry units. For this build to work well, however, Micaiah needs a high attack stat, otherwise she may not 1HKO enemies that could easily make mince meat of her--Hector, for instance. Glimmer is chosen for her special for the short cooldown, which goes a long way in securing as many 1HKOs as possible, though Iceberg works even better if you're committed to using a team with infantry pulse. You just want her activating her special as often as possible--it makes a world of difference. Her main weakness is green infantry/flier units, which you may want to use a red tank for instead. Colorless mage destroyers like Innes and ToD Sakura are also something to watch out for. Her optimum C slot varies depending on the map and team, but Res Ploy is really nice for driving enemies' res down even further. Which means more damage, which means more delicious 1HKOs.

They'll Never See it Coming

In FEH, Micaiah is known for three things - High Atk and Res, Low Def and Spd, and being a check against armors. However, with all the Distant Counter Distant Counter armors/high Res mage armors with Vengeful Fighter 3 Vengeful Fighter 3 running about, it has become harder for her to consistently lands kills. This Player Phase build makes use of the Desperation 3 Desperation 3 + Brash Assault 3 Brash Assault 3 combo to make sure that armors and some cavalry don't stand a chance.

The tl;dr gameplan is to use Skilliconassist Sacrifice or Skilliconassist Reciprocal Aid for fall below 50% HP to activate Desperation 3 Desperation 3 and Brash Assault 3 Brash Assault 3. We use Heavy Blade 3 Heavy Blade 3 to get our 2-Charge Special in a single engagement, dealing massive damage to any Distant Counter Distant Counter or ranged foe.

The Weapon is Icon Class Blue Tome Thani because what else would Micaiah use?

The Assist is Skilliconassist Sacrifice or Skilliconassist Reciprocal Aid as we want Micaiah to fall into the HP thresholds for both Desperation 3 Desperation 3 and Brash Assault 3 Brash Assault 3 which is under 50%.

The Special is Skilliconspecial Moonbow or Skilliconspecial Glimmer. We want a 2-Charge Special as it will activate on most initiations.

The A-Skill is Heavy Blade 3 Heavy Blade 3 as Micaiah's naturally high attack will make it easy to meet its activation requirement, especially with any attack buffs, letting you activate the aforementioned 2-Charge specials on your second attack.

The B-Skill is Desperation 3 Desperation 3 so that we can hit the opponent before they can retaliate.

The C-Skill is Flexible, but anything that would boost Micaiah's damage would be appreciated, like Res Ploy 3 Res Ploy 3 for debuffing enemy Res or Even Atk Wave 3 Even Atk Wave 3 to boost her Attack stat further beyond.

The Sacred Seal is Brash Assault 3 Brash Assault 3 which gives us a guaranteed double if HP<50% and the foe can counterattack. Interestingly, Brash Assault 3 Brash Assault 3 and Desperation 3 Desperation 3 can be used together to double the enemy before they can hit you.

Aether Raids Secret Weapon
Click to show/hide build description
Tired of Lynhardtronica killing you dead in Aether Raids? There's one common trait they all have: They're all ranged cavalry, and that's what Micaiah is here to deal with. +Atk is optimal because it's Micaiah, but +Res can work too, as two of the three above (and other common Aether units such as Aversa) are mages, plus it helps with her special (Iceberg or Glacies; do you want more bite from your Res, or do you want it going faster? The choice is yours). Her assist doesn't especially matter; Sacrifice works well enough and it's innate on her, but anything works. On that note, Renewal is a solid choice to get her healed up if she takes a hit that doesn't kill her. The key to this build, however, lies in the A and C skills, as well as the seal. The A Slot and Seal stack, so that when a ranged attack hits her, she will have +12 to her defensive values; while this will take her Def from "Garbage" to "Could possibly survive one hit from Lyn" (14+12 = 26 Def if she's -Def), for the magic users, a neutral 38 becomes a whopping 50 Res; this allows her to survive Reinhardt's assault fairly easily, to say nothing of other mages in general. On appropriate numbered turns, the Res Wave brings that up to a massive 56 (and also boosts Iceberg/Glacies if it goes off!) Res. Micaiah then counterattacks with Thani, which of course has effective vs. horse/armor. Reinhardts in particular will more or less just explode on the spot, while Veronicas will take the player phase to do the same due to innate Dazzling Staff, but they will still explode the second Micaiah attacks, as will Brave Lyns. That being said, keep her away from close range attackers; with only 14 Def to her name in the optimal version of this build (18 or 21 under other circumstances), one clean close range physical hit (and 2-at-most clean long range physicals) will end her.
  • Note: All of the numbers talk above assumes Micaiah has zero merges.
